The right to complain is universal. Other people have the right to complain about your complaining by complaining at you.

On another topic, has anyone seen any mods for 1.8 yet? I've been searching and even following the Forge forums, but I haven't seen anything.
There's a few on the MCF mod list, but as others have said, they're holding back from letting the big ones out because they're waiting for MC to slow down a bit.

UUGH. It's the couple weeks before winter vacation again, and that means that it's time for shittons of homework. Whoopie. This leads to things like what happened yesterday (today?), namely staying up all night working on stuff, then getting up super early to continue working, then still having work I need to do, probably during lunch. This, of course, means I have days like this, where I'm tired enough my eyes unfocus and I nearly fall asleep in the middle of class. And then have a test the class after that. Consuming a large amount of sugary fruit seems to have temporarily fixed the problem, but if it wears off before I can get home, I'm officially screwed. Ugh. Fuck today, and it's not even 11'o clock yet.

That sounds like the American pigeon guided missile, only less sane...
Dangit. I was just about to say that.

Augh! When will I learn not to search things like Doc Scratch/Tavros?
Jack Noir/Spades Slick. Huh. I actually thought "Yup, there's gonna be SS/JN fics", but DANG, that's a lot of fic.

I'm surprised that there aren't more WV/PM fics, given that there was a hint given out, towards a fandom that ships like madmen.
That kinda surprised me too.Don't ship 'em at all. nope. But eh, I guess people forgot about them, honestly. You have them being all cute and shit, and then EXPLOSIONS and EXCITEMENT and TROLLS.

I'm surprised that there aren't more WV/PM fics, given that there was a hint given out, towards a fandom that ships like madmen.

What. That is a boring ship. It has some basis in canon, they're of opposite genders AND they're not siblings. 0/10, would never ship again.

^Over exaggeration for comedic effect
:P Sadly accurate, going by the numbers.

I'm not quite sure about that either, but I made sure to redirect output to a file for record-keeping. I would imagine the na"ive implementation would be to load the file, get a list of zeroes, and check for them before every request.
That, while possibly slow, could in fact be quite useful. It could import the text from the output file, then, before it queries the server, check if the given pair is already there, by using "in". It would actually improve speed if the pair is already done. That would actually work. Huh.

Having the zeroes isn't that bad. I just grep out the --- and \s0$ lines. I think it would be more efficient to filter out known zeroes so as to reduce load on the server.

Also, we are now at 3438 pairings. There are 313 with at least one fic, so the percentage of used ships seems to have gone up as we re-enter familiar territory. (Last pairing before end of write block: Sollux/Equius)
I would have, but the problem is that each fic is only done once, and as such the program doesn't have any way of knowing if a fic will be a zero before hand :/. If you have any tips on how I would do that, they would be appreciated.

It's now at WV/Aranea Serket with a grand total of almost 2300 unique pairings queried. Only about 2% of them have at least one fic.

There are two for Calliope/Cronus!?
I might make a slight edit to make it take an argument so that you can choose to not have it display zeroes, for the future.
Huh. 2 for Calliope/Cronus?
Oh, one's for the shipping olympics, and the other's one-sided as all hell. Whew.

Edit: Okay, uploaded it to the dropbox, as FicGetter2.py. Should be identical, with an optional argument to turn the zeroes off.

I'm a cruel, cruel person. Want to know what's worse? AFAICT, very few of those fics are SFW. Have fun with those images!
EDIT: Here, you  might want some of this:

I have no idea where to start as far as adding characters. Maybe guardians and exiles?

Also, do you know roughly how many requests the server will take before blocking? If I had to guess, it would be set to some admin-friendly number like 100 in an hour or something.
I don't know. I didn't count yesterday, though I should have, and today had relatively very few pairs, due to nearing the end of the list. It was a good few, though.

As for who to add, I'd say:
The Felt, Midnight Crew, Hussie, Lord English, Noir, the Sprites (all of them), Ms. Paint, the Exiles, Calliope, Caliborn, lil' Cal, The Guardians, the Denizens, and Casey, for a start.

As for why I chose AoOO, the relationship search ohmygod. Input characters, get number of fics. So convenient.

I'd be willing to run the script for a portion of the remainder of the ships. It's not like I really visit AoOO anyway.

NinjaADDIT: Also, there are so many unwritten ships! That would be trivial!
Dropbox folder with the program and basic .txt file of all the kids+trolls: Mleh.
Homestuck.txt has a list of all the kids and trolls, already put in. Just add your characters to the top of the list to get the new pairings immediately.

I think you have to invent a new ship to earn that title.
Hmm. So many choices. R4D A1R? I haven't seen that one before.

Psh, only humans and trolls? Amateur. Think of all the Hussie/Vriska and Clover/Casey fics you're missing.
If you compile a list of all the characters in homestuck, in the proper naming format to easily be ported into my AoOO scanning program, sure I'll do those. But that would take too long for me right now. Sorry!

That sounded less hostile in my head. Sorry.

Psh, only humans and trolls? Amateur. Think of all the Hussie/Vriska and Clover/Casey fics you're missing.
How narrow-minded, leaving out all of these polyamorous relationships.
Heh. I really do not want to have to program that up right now, though. The main problem right now is AoOO going "OH NO, AN ATTACK", and causing an error. The more relationships, the higher probability for that to happen.

Edit: Can I claim my title as Shipping Scientist now? :P

Um guys. I'm done. I did it guys, I made it happen. I present to you:
Fun fact: In that ficwall, every possible pairing between the kids, trolls, and their dancestors is listed. In addition, there are 560 lines. This is equivalent to 23 pages in Microsoft word, with the initial settings. Lastly, this post is near half full.
