I was in a town, and I had just gotten several quests to kill some criminal leaders. As my group was walking through the town, the announcement, "The Hammerman is no longer enraged" appeared. At first I thought it was a glitch because I didn't have any companion hammermen, and there were none nearby. Later, when I talked to someone in the town, the option of Spreading the News appeared even though I didn't do anything, and when I did, the guy thanked me for killing the criminals. This was a new world, so I never did anything in the city, and also the guy did say that there were multiple gangs in one dungeon, so is it possible that the two crimnal groups attacked each other?

When I play adventure mode, I always do pretty well, having no trouble with bandits, vampires, night creatures, etc. However, whenever I go to the catacombs or sewers in the cities, all the criminals appears to be really good at killing you. Usually, since I'm the first of my companions to enter through doors or trapdoors (because they don't do it automatically), if there are criminals waiting at the door or staircase, then I'll get The Elf Lasher lashes You in the upper right back teeth with her bronze whip and the severed part sails off in an arc!
The Swordsman slashes You in the left upper arm with his bronze long sword, but the attack is deflected by Your -®copper mail shirt¯-!
The flying bronze bolt strikes You in the lower body, tearing the muscle and tearing the pancreas through the llama wool cloak!
The bronze bolt has lodged firmly in the wound!
.
Is there a way to stop this?

DF Gameplay Questions / Best Fortress Mode Tileset?
« on: January 20, 2014, 06:36:20 pm »
I've been playing Dwarf Fortress for about a month now, mainly on Adventure Mode, and have gotten kinda used to the default tileset, but when I finally decided to try Fortress, I could hardly understand anything other than what were dwarves, trees, and animals. Is there any tileset out there that is made primarily for Fortress Mode?
