I hate elfves. Besides everything else about them that we all hate, the bandit form of them get metal gear and how no respect for the wildlife as the ruthlessly kill anything they can find. That and this group has yet to freak over a corpse yet.

Might be related with the with increase of dieties interacting with dwarfs and the world. Maybe a dwarf angered one so much he smited him and those who came in contact with it.

I honestly don't care about kids. They are a parasite on my citizens and those who do survive childhood generally become soldiers because soldiers die almst every siege it seems.

I've thought about doing overhangs on my forts like I've done in my 34. forts because for some reasons i don't remember besides it being a pain when building.
New fort for 40.03 and it will be one to strike fear into the elves who have claimed a ridiculously large piece of land leaving the humans very little to grow on.

I clear cutted before hand. It grew next to my wooden fort that I had built.
Brand new of a second year fort.
Don't remember biome/
About 4-6 z-levels.
Don't remember type of tree but it was above ground and I think there weren't any roots for the tree and there was multiple soil layers below.
I do not have the save anymore.

If anyone has successfully seen a tree grow beyond a sapling, on an embark, in fortress mode, under any conditions in 40.03, please reply or PM me.
How do you know it's broken? It may be that trees take a realistic 10 or so years to grow now that they drop 40+ logs a piece
I got a new tree grown in one of my forts in 2 years albeit is had few logs, but grew in two years, yes.

Toady said that .02 is not compatiable with .03.
