You know that had to be Day 1 DLC that they sat on so it wasn't called Day 1 DLC.

Easiest way to do that is to simply have higher tech tiers take way more time/resources than you usually get in a playthrough to go down more than one path all the way. Makes it feel less arbitrary while still keeping the replayability in place.Very true, tying them to a specific resource is probably the way to go as otherwise it does feel sort of arbitrary.
- is it more of an 'early beta' or a definite alpha-alpha? (you get what I mean!)From their webpage:QuoteAs it’s the first public alpha there are a lot of bugs for us to get through. So not just alpha, but early alpha. Anyway, just bought it, I'll scope out what it's like and report back.
Also, OR support. That will be epic. Can't wait for my devkit 2 to get here.

Honestly, I didn't want to pickpocket anyone in AC2. Why would I? Why did they tie pickpocketing to walking quickly? That annoyed me.
I think it has potential but its very much an alpha now. The AI of the enemy mutants surprised me a few times - they can climb trees and try to get behind you constantly. Bit of a more serious Don't Starve in first person is kind of the feel.
Oh geez, for some reason I thought this was some generic horror point and click game so I skipped by it in the steam releases. I gotta pay more attention.
I'm sorta sad that they updated a lot in Endless Space, then quit, after all the large mods were put on hiatus for not wanting to change anything, as apparently the structure that enables modding can be very finnicky when it comes to changes, being in .xml.
No, AC had the same level of stupid going on with money. "Why yes, in Renaissance Italy people just leave chests of gold everywhere! On their balconies, in the ruins of the forum, buried hundreds of feet below in the catacombs! Why, with all this money laying around, you'd think Renaissance Italians didn't really care that much about it!"
AC:Revelations goes even further, and puts stuff in the middle of markets with hordes of people walking by.
So yeah. Ubi has never really cared about the logical consistency of many gameplay elements. They care more about creating the illusion of activities constantly surrounding you, and they quickly lose all meaning due to their frequency. Money and chests, in AC, were effectively the energy pellets to the player's pacman.
I've never been a member, but in lurking I have noticed that kind of attitude there. Not that they're alone in this - a lot of 'home' forums for games seem to lean that way. It's why I prefer to discuss games I play in a more neutral place like this.I couldn't agree more. The CataDDA forums for instance are positively toxic, and while I don't think the Tavern is as bad, there are a lot of patronizing 'you don't know what you really want' attitudes around.
I haven't actually had the chance to watch that video yet, but since the parent mentioned Q&A...
