Changes:
  • Completing Aloofness/Destroyer now requires explicit opposition to a proposal in the form of an argument against the proposal.
  • Counterproposals are no longer accepted for Aloofness/Destroyer. Previously, both Aloofness/Destroyer and Aloofness/Reshaper accepted this, which is redundant and silly.
  • The text-based option for Aloofness/Creator is clarified as accepting texts, dialogue, or proposals (but not counterproposals) on IC.
  • Counterproposals will now be limited to 2 per Council turn.

Stewards of an Ailing Sun: The Sun. Also, Compromises

    Turn 1: Normal turn

At long last, after a month of heated, frozen, and reanimated deliberations, the Council of Stewards has arrived at something resembling a compromise. Although perhaps not particularly pleasing to most in and of itself, the adjournment of this hellish meeting that surely could have been a letter will finally allow the Stewards to shape the world to their liking.

Quote from: The Milquetoast Act of Escaping Council Purgatory

    1. Point 1: The SUN will shine for 8 [BELFRYHOURS] at full Brightness, and 8 [BELFRYHOURS] at less brightness in a repeating cycle.
    2. Point 2: Skip
    3. Point 3: Skip
4.a Point 4a: The [WORLD] requires mortals.
4.b Point 4b: The purposeful harm or damaging of the SUN is [FORBIDDEN]. Modification or altering of the length of [BELFRY HOURS] without explicit Council approval is [FORBIDDEN].
    4.c Point 4c: Skip

    5. Point 5: Adjourn Council Session upon the passing of this act

    6. Point 6: Skip

A significant change introduced by this resolution is that the world now requires mortals. Seeing as all three pantheons have Mortal Acts ready to be deployed anyway, this is a welcome boost to the world's stability. However, not everything seems to be happening according to plan despite the Council's best efforts. The Milquetoast Act of Escaping Council Purgatory prescribes 8 belfry-hours at full brightness and 8 belfry-hours at lesser brightness, but as long as the BAT-RIDDEN BELFRY remains disconnected, there is no guarantee that the SUN will shine for the assigned durations. Its joyful ringing is likely to resume soon, but is there a chance that restoring the BAT-RIDDEN BELFRY could count as tampering with the length of belfry-hours? Of course, this shouldn't matter too much, as the SUN isn't scheduled to ever go out completely, and surely the plucky little world can handle a little chaos in its companion's variability.

    The State of the World

The world is currently rather empty, but each pantheon has been given a Continent Act (61 hexes) and a Mortal Act (8-16 pops) to do with as its members please. Each god can (and should for the stipend if not for the advancement of the SUN) additionally place their THRONE somewhere on the world without spending any acts. Those with acts from Council business can also dispense them as they wish.

We should go West. The food supply is most secure here, and while we may not have quality pelts we have enough wood to make fires to replace their warmth.
+1. Go west, young tribe, go west!

Here is the current map for worldographers: Flat 60x30

Here is the (better?) icosahedral map for worldographers: Icosahedral 12. For this map, hexes cut by triangle boundaries (e.g. the 5/6 hexes at the vertices and the 1/2 hexes on the edges) will be considered the same hex.
