Too... many...crocs..
I helped my butcher and atomsmashed 2/3 of them right away.

Two crocsplosions at the same time ? Not bad.

I would assume the limit on pets of one species would prevent it though.

Crikey, mate!

Now he needs to breed stingrays next.

I think rays are in the game, stingrays i'm not sure...

Such edge! ;)

This would be excellent. Especially with dwarfs that have been bitten by werebeasts.

My marksdwarf was bitten on the fourth finger, left hand, by a Werelizard. Fortunately for her (and her husband), the beast bit it off completely. Then he ripped off her shoe, and then pulled off her sock. He began to beat her with the silk sock, which was hilarious. She hasn't turned, and it's been two years since that incident.

So this would kinda feel like a zombie movie, if it's a hand or a leg, you may be able to save the person by amputating the infected limb. However, if you're bitten on the neck or torso... it's all ogre for you now.

Recently breached Hell. Have you ever seen 118 dwarfs die in 30 seconds? I have.

I had "acrid muck" that rained upon my dwarfs. It blistered them all over, and it mangled their eyes beyond recognition. Unfortunately I had to abandon the fort due to a certain werelizard attack...

Yeah I've noticed it SEEMS harder on my laptop this time around, too.

It may just be my style changed, but I'm not sure. It's not that big of a deal with my stuff, but it's just something I've noticed. You know?

I practice this a lot with my animals. I tend to make the best fit animals as pets (That way I don't accidentally butcher them), and make them breed like crazy. Then I secure at least one more pair (hopefully large, fatty pair), and again, make them pets. That way I've got some security should the originals die of old age.

Then I butcher the offspring once they are of adult age. Sometimes I wait til' I've got a few to butcher so it's less micro-managing. I don't really know if this has any benefits, but it helps quell the boredom I sometimes get while waiting for bigger projects to come to fruition.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

THIS.

AHEM.

The ideal creature to test on would be chickens I think
Has anyone had any luck making bigger and tougher war animals for instance, is this possible?
I think the first step would be to determine if there is any degree of inheritance, which would probably mean keeping only two breeding animals of a single species on the map at a time, and seeing if you can select for traits and establish a true breeding line.

We are talking about animals, not dwarves. And if we were talking about dwarves, we're all too pragmatic to chuck babies in magma. It's better and easier to lock two dwarves in a room until they marry each other than to kill off half your population as "undesirable, " unlike what unfortunately happened in real life.

Now please stop derailing a perfectly valid thread for the sake of the perceived violations of the percieved rights of randomised collections of data in a computer program.

Too many crundles...
What happened?

On an unrelated note, what does besorgter mean? I know it's German but I don't think I ever learned that particular word.

EDIT:

FUCKING FINALLY

(If you don't remember, he was the one who wanted the rose gold bed)

EDIT2: Only then days until my legendary bonecarver child reaches adulthood!

Besorgt means "worried/concerned." So it could mean "Concerned/Worried Dwarf."

Such a beautiful word. Such a nice concept that never had unfortunate consequences.

Good thing you already set it on fire, so i don't have to do it. (In other words: yes, that's a definite trigger word for me.)

What is this, Tumblr?
