Steele hops into the hole in the floor and starts passing up weapons.

Spoiler: Weapon Cache (click to show/hide)

228
Steele takes a swig of the scotch and wipes his mouth before passing back the flask.
"Christ, that stuff tastes like horse piss. Remind me to buy you some real Scotch when we get back to the States."
He grasps the baton firmly in his right hand and swings it like Boyd said to and manages to open it in a single try. He slips the end of the baton underneath a floorboard and pushes.

**Steele rolls an 89!**

With a creak, the floorboard comes loose, revealing a large weapons cache.

Adriana, having no luck finding a crowbar, returns to the living room to find that the others have already pried the floorboards loose.

229
"I'll drink when this is all over. Here, let me see that."
Steele takes the tape recorder from Adriana and hits a button on the side.

After a moment, the tape begins to play. A grizzled male voice starts to speak, as a series of gunshots can be heard in the background.

"Someone ratted us out. Weapons hidden under the floorboards in the living room. FST surrounding the building. Godspeed."

The tape ends with a click.

"Shit," Steele says. "We've walked into an ambush. I'm guessing we're not going to find a fourth body. I'm guessing that the FST will wait until the morning to assault the building. Let us lick our wounds and fall into a false sense of security. I say we use our time to fortify this place. We've got decent visibility in every direction from the second floor. But first..." Steele begins to tap along the floorboards with his shoe. When he hears a hollow noise, he turns to Boyd. "Do you still have that baton you were twirling around yesterday?"

He pauses once more.

"And, Boyd? I think I'll take you up on that drink."

230
She takes the recorder, and returns to the group. "Anybody got something to play this on?"
Steele looks confused.
"What do you mean? It's a tape recorder. One of these buttons should rewind the tape."

231
((What about this action?))
Adriana, pistol at the ready, cautiously goes through the rooms, searching for any clue as to what happened and the fourth body.

Afterwards, she examines the bodies, looking for Cause of Death and their gear.

((Getting there. Patience, young grasshopper. You have not been forgotten.))

Adriana sweeps through the upstairs.
If not for the dead SOF operatives, this building would look perfectly normal. Beds, cabinets, dressers. A place for everything, and everything in its place.
If there are more weapons, they must be hidden.
She returned to the bodies. Both men were shot through the head with some sort of handgun. Only one of them was armed, clutching a small pistol in both hands. The safety was still on. In his back pocket, Adriana found a tape recorder.

232
"No. This must have been a set-up. Think about it. Our plane had civilian markings. They wouldn't have shot us down if they hadn't known who we were, and they wouldn't have been able to find our safehouse unless someone told them. Here, let's get Boyd patched up."

**Hanton, Fakhr, and Steele roll a 96!**

Using a first-aid kit Hanton found in the medicine cabinet of the bathroom, they manage to stop the bleeding and clean the wound.

Selva Sur, Tropicana
Approximately 22:30 hours, local time

"This should be the place," Steele said.
He entered a series of numbers into the keypad by the door, and the door swung open, revealing an especially pungent odor. Steele flicked on the lights.

"Fuck! It smells like somebody- oh, Christ."
An SOF agent was slumped against the wall with a bullet hole in his forehead and an empty handgun lying at his side. The room was decorated like a restaurant, but it was clear from the dust on the tables that nobody had ever eaten there. A staircase led upstairs, to where the agents would have slept. Steele drew the blinds and closed the door after the rest of the group had entered. Steele pulled out his MBITR and began to speak into it.

**Steele rolls a 90!**

<"Pathfinder, this is Renegade, status report, over.">

A minute or so of a muffled female voice swearing can be heard over the radio.

<"'S Pathfinder. Go 'head, Renegade, over.">

The voice on the other end of the radio yawns.

<"Accidentally engaged a group of drug smugglers back in the jungle. One minor casualty, and one major one. We've arrived at Selva Sur. One dead operative on the lower floor. Hold on, let me get someone to check upstairs, over.">

Steele looks at Adriana and gestures towards the staircase. She crouches and heads up, pistol at the ready.

After a minute, "Two more bodies up here!"

<"Pathfinder, we've found two more bodies, over.">

<"Roger that, Renegade. There were four operatives, so there should be a fourth body somewhere. Happy hunting. Pathfinder out.">

Steele swears and puts the radio back in his pocket.
"Now, let's get Boyd patched up."

234
"Anyone that can use rifles should take one and loot as much ammo as possible, then. A few well-placed shots from rifles are better than going crazy with a pistol anyway." Fakhr headed to where Boyd and Hanton were and tried to help her lift Boyd. "Steele, help here."

"One sec."
He walks over to the smuggler he shot in the head and flips him over to retrieve his rifle.
"Not bad."

He returns to help Fakhr lift Boyd.

**Fakhr and Steele roll a 79!**

They manage to lift Boyd off the ground and put one of his arms over each of their shoulders.

"We got him, let's keep moving."

Yeah, sorry, force of habit from my last forum game.

Masterwork DF / Re: First time playing Masterwork, any advice?
« on: July 22, 2015, 12:11:37 pm »
Sure.

Do you know where I can download it?
That tileset makes my head spin.

237
I'm not bitching, besides, I'm not planning to get hit.

Don't speak those blasphemies! Our dark lord, the RNG, knows all! Keep that up and some peon will blow your head off with a lucky shot on the first turn!

238
Steele sees Fakhr and Slate looking at the bodies.
"Not much there. Couple AKs, but that's about it. They burned off most of their ammo when they were shooting at us."

**Hanton rolls a 73!**
Jesse tries to lift Boyd off the ground, to no avail.

"Can you just bandage me already? I'm fuckin' dying here!"

239
**Jesse rolls a 06!**
Hanton tries to tear a strip of cloth from her sleeve to make a bandage, but the fabric won't rip.
