DF Suggestions / No automatic reload after firing
« on: March 13, 2016, 01:55:30 pm »
I've lost count of lost heroes who tried to use bows and crossbows in a battle. I just wanted to make a single shot and then to start chopping enemies with a short-range weapon, so I didnt intend to reload a ranged weapon after making a shot. But the reloading process took place regardless of my following intensions. My suggestion is: could you make reloading optional or a separate command?

Other Games / Re: Games you wish existed

I wish there was a fighting RPG game with procedurally generated world and plot where the main focus was made on the fighting system which would resemble the one of TORIBASH game but more user-friendly + tons of random characters, weapons, outfits, physics, replays, slow-mo and so on.

DF Gameplay Questions / Lesbians???
« on: August 21, 2014, 05:14:35 am »
Alright. I have a female carpenter and a female fisherdwarf who are actually in love with each other. Is it common in DF? I am a keen dwarfer but it's the first time I have something like that. Where can such relationships lead? Will they marry eventually? Can male dwarfs come out as gays as well? This game never stops surprising me!

Sprinting and jumping at the roofs reminded me the "Assassin's Creed" game series xD Maybe eventually there will be more air for thieving stuff, climbing or jumping into houses through the windows and stealing valuable things? Evading guards and servants? I might have confused at some point, but I think I read something like that in the development reports, or didn't I?

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your adventure?

My lord told me about the rival town. I went there, climbed the wall, shoot the guardian, ambushed into the fortress and killed the lady. When the guard started gathering at the crime place, I was on my way away from there. I was unnoticed though people at the market started running away from me so I decided to grab stuff out of the barrels until I was shot by a bowman  :-[

Another robbery fail was when I tried to take a pouch from a peasant. I was punching him in the liver, kidney, face but at one moment he stabbed me chipping my spine. Now the hero is retired xD

Once I had my adventurer retired for 8 years and nothing was happening in his life. At all.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Need to put out the fire

Jumping in water right after you were hit with fire would help.

Hmm, maybe try to travel a bit on the fast-travel screen.

I emptied my waterskin right beneath me but it didn't help. And I could not use the fast travel mode until I leave the site.
I died =\ So sad.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Need to put out the fire

I came across a shrine where I encountered a titan with the power to shoot fire. First thing I fired an arrow to his leg making him fall over but he managed to throw a fireball making me melt. I came up to him and stroke him down with a headbutt to his head (I play Genesis mod). So I was moving away from that place when I lost an ability to move at all. And here I am, standing at the end of the, shrine melting and trying to do something. Is there a way to put the fire out or I have to die in the beginning of my heroic career?

I played as a powerful demigod with high skills at wrestling, fighting and dodging and had fun killing enemies barehanded. So once I got to a camp to kill everybody in (just an ordinary day of a demigod). I grabbed the first guy by the throat and threw him up being ready to send an ultimate punishment to everyone nearby but that guy fell right on my head and killed me. I was pissed but couldn't help laughing xD

Yet another story. I played as a vampire dwarf and had made many heroic deeds. I was heading with my 15 guys to another battlefield when we were ambushed by the rival squad. I got an arrow to the throat just at the beginning of the fight but yet I managed to kill more than 10 enemies dodging and blocking countless arrows while my guys dealt with the others including the captain. When I became assured we wouldn't lose I died from the blood loss.

DF General Discussion / World progress after the world gen?

Hey guys! I have been playing DF for hell of a time but there is something that I failed to get. As the title says I try to figure out if a world stops in it's progress right after it's been generated. I mean characters stop giving birth to babies, outlaws don't organize camps anymore etc. Is it true or there is any world progress during the actual gameplay? If so, is there any mod or patch making it possible?
