Official DF Tileset Discussion / Re: Hello from the New Artist

Welcome!

Thanks for letting us know what's going on!

We are also still interested in talking to content creators (streamers, YouTubers, etc) interested doing more with Dwarf Fortress. If that is you, then let's chat on Discord! (Alexandra #0007)

Friend request sent, as I see no way of sending messages before hand. I'm starting my first Twitch run of the current game soon (2nd run overall).

The easiest and most common way to get enough of a connection to send messages would be to share a Discord server, such as the Kitfox Games Discord.

- What does Dwarf Fortress's commitment to realism mean for, uh, sex-related stuff?

Sort of vaguely connected to this, it was pointed out to me tonight in a Twitch stream that the previous dwarven incest taboo has apparently been broken for years at least in Legends. This might be a thing to sort out for Premium.

Let's not overly romanticize our sudden loss of access to official answers, though.
I note that the question prior has sat without so much as an "I don't know, we'll see" since August.

Admirable!

For those unaware of US business law, it's very unlikely Bay 12 or Kitfox will expand on their statement.

To do so would potentially open at least Bay 12 up to lawsuits.

Seriously, if he'd burned their offices down, filmed himself doing it, and uploaded it to YouTube for the world to watch, they'd be advised to say pretty much the same thing.

Hey Toady One !

Can I help with the title set? I would work for free just to help the development process. I'm not that active on the forum but... I'm willing to make anything possible to help

I think that question is best asked to Kitfox, though by the words used in the recent update they may already be covered.

(I passed it on to Kitfox earlier.)

Is this a change to Vettlingr's tileset? I no longer see the Kruggsmash font in the PyLNP Launcher under Graphics > Customize > Font.

I don't know if it's an oversight, or intentional on vettlingr's part, but I have permission from Kruggsmash to distribute this version.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-1aByBHb4AobFuEf0lBP9IAZNeCg7THj/view?usp=sharing

If you save it in:

Code: [Select]
PeridexisErrant's Starter Pack 0.47.05-r05\LNP\graphics\Vettlingr\data\art
it should work as before for you, with the new name. Or you could rename it.

This is the current set Kruggsmash uses, I believe.

It seems unfortunate that this commentary is ongoing after Meph asked for it to end in this thread and subsequently apologized profusely all around multiple places elsewhere.

For your convenience, here is the thread Meph moved the discussion to, where his current comments are focused on getting people to stop attacking Vettlingr.

A single hit on VT is almost always a false positive especially if the engine that flagged it is not one of the major engines. None of the major sites that review antivirus engines even mention MaxSecure.

And the sha256 hash on VT matches the file released on https://github.com/Kromtec/LegendsViewer (for the version in this pack). So if it is a trojan, it's a publicly open-sourced one.

Where do you see this "view rule", "unlikely", and "critical"? I don't see that on VT. Is it something you hav to be logged in to see?

It should appear near the top if you are signed in. Looks like this if you're curious: https://imgur.com/a/B0ORfte

Legends Viewer just updated in the Pack, perhaps it's fixed now.

I definitely hope Dwarf Therapist and most other utilities continue updating!

As best I can tell, the "adamantly opposed to the "spreadsheet" approach" is very much in the minority, but of course Tarn belongs to it, sooooo. I will say that from private correspondence I think the new system granularity of control looks pretty good. All of the "but what if we want to X?" questions I could come up with seemed to have simple answers.

Anyway, that's mostly off-topic for the thread, apologies.

Clément, I was teasing a streamer for not using the dark mode, they said "What dark mode?" and I told them where it was, at which point it transpired that they use Linux and the options I expected were not there, and they were not sure how to make use of "This must be the adwaita dark theme I use on Linux, I don't think you will find it for Windows. This is done with Qt style plugins." Perhaps add the standard options for less adept linux users?
