The care taking problem is that such an important task seems so low priority - I had to have a dwarf whose only task was healthcare just to make sure my orphaned babies didn't die of thirst. A dwarf would rather clean broken bolts out of my archery range than take care of the dwarf bleeding to death outside.

Edit: As I wrote this the "old clothing wave" hit my fortress. I think 20 dwarves going berserk because it rained and they have holes in their shoes would be a great thing too fix in the next version too.

The average cage trap is for losers, but an elaborate setup involving levers, pressure plates, magma, chained animals, windmills, screw pumps, and an 4 z-level pit with upright spikes at the bottom with a tame dragon...

And when seiges are fixed Toady will probably make traps less overpowered and goblin workarounds to them. Really, a dragon getting instagibbed by a birchen cage and a poorly made mechanism?

You design some awsome traps for a seige and wait..goblins storm in , get shot, fall in pits, activate traps, and clash with your melee dwarves, suddenly a gobl Dwarven fortress has encountered an error.

If that's your idea of fun, go stare at a wall and beat your head against it.
You can't have a new update until bugs and glitches are worked out.

I'm pretty sure its "Thou shalt not murder" rather than kill. Jesus says murder anyway, and it makes more sense.

The problem with sticking everyone in prison for life is its so costly. Someone in prison for life will end up using a heck of a lot of money, money that could be used to improve the life of people who aren't sick murderers, people who are paying so that the sick murderers can eat right now.

Kagus put it pretty well. Except the gladitorial combat thing - we could use them to test new health and cosmetic products.

I most certaintly would not!

What would you do if your door wouldn't open and several bearded midgets began dumping water down a grate in your roof?
