"I don't think you are in a position to make demands, young lady."

As he says this, a number of armed men come from the forests and the cliffs. They are armed to the teeth with heavy weapons. They look like mercenaries, not like simple bandits.

"Perhaps now you will rethink your attitude. You are of they Order of Heaven, are you not? It seems those bandits could not be trusted. I am sorry, but I cannot allow you to leave. Surrender and no harm will be done to you."

My game is already playtesting 1.3, so you can focus on other stuff for now if you want.

Chapter I: Unpredictable Weather

The small group of recruits of the Order sent to the Balthus Mountains now march north, towards Galgados. The Principalty of Galgados, known by it's high mountains and fertile valleys, has been recently known to be home to political strife, as Prince Victor Daorland died recently in an accident and his three children are now fighting a subtle war of politics and influence to gain their father's position.

But why would any of the Daorland's supply weapons to bandits outside of its borders? Dark secrets are hidden within the Principalty, and it seems like it is time for the Order of Heavens to pay a visit. For now though, their objective is in the border, where the deceased leader of the bandits had to meet with an unknown master.

Dusk is near. After resting in the Balthus Fort for a day, you have travelled north towards the border with Galgados. It's been a few days now, and it seems like you are now near the fortress of Tonitrua. In ancient times a small fort guarding the road to Galgados, it was destroyed shortly after the War of God by natural disasters. You can see its keep a bit far away, high above the trees surrounding the ruins.

It's now only a short walk from your position, but you know there must be someone waiting around here, so you slow down a bit. And you can see someone on top of the cliffs that separate you from your destination.

"Are you lost, travellers? This old road is not as safe as the royal road. There are rock slides the moment it rains a bit, and it looks to me like there is one big storm coming. Perhaps you would like to go back and look for another way to get to Galgados."

Well, I don't usually do this (I don't like advertising things, but hey, this looks cool and unfortunately the guys aren't exactly advertising it), but I wanted to share with you a game being developed (it should be out for PC this Autumn).

I must say this is a trailer done with the first Alpha. As far as I know, the important conversations now have voice acting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3A2lHo4rNmM

The game takes place in the world of the Spanish RPG Anima Beyond Fantasy (one of the most successful Spanish RPGs, and probably the only one with some degree of success outside Spain), a world where the supernatural is slowly coming back, after a disaster 700 years ago almost wiped out most supernatural creatures and completely changed the world.

The main characters of this game are the Bearer of Calamities, an agent of the Church of Abel, and Ergo Mundus, one of the 22 Messengers of the Apocalypse. The Bearer lost her name and memories when she accepted to seal a pact with Ergo in order to use his power for the Church, and Ergo lost most of his memories after he was sealed in a book by the Church. Together, they must explore their own memories and find out who they really are.

The game is an ARPG, and the player can adapt the powers of the characters to his style of play as they level up. Little is known about how it will look in the end, but I guess it would be nice to at least give it a look.

Rooster seems a bit annoyed at first by Varion's comment, but he just laughs a bit before saying something.
"I'd like to see you when you get to my age, boy. I doubt you'll keep all your hair for that long. But yes, we will probably go with you, we have been bored for quite a lot time, and this seems like an exciting to way to get some exercise. That is, of course, if the young lady doesn't have anything against it."

"Thank you Lidia. I really needed that. Now lets see if I am needed here."

If the lancer dies after Aira and Fredric's attacks, move to 6E, if he doesn't, move to 4D and stab him.

Ok, once everybody is done RPing, we can start the next chapter.
EDIT: Guys, if you are all heading to the fortress to rest before going to Galgados, then tell me so I start the next chapter
EDIT2: Rolls for Rosster & Fede because I might have forgotten that merchants always level up after a battle.
Rooster & Federico: +HP, +SKL, +LCK, +SPD

"Here you go, sir."

The paper has been folded and unfolded several times. Some of the letters are difficult to read now, but the calligraphy is clean and orderly.

Spoiler: Letter (click to show/hide)

Rooster facepalms at Christoph's comment, but he moves towards the bandit boss' corpse, and starts to look in his pockets.

"Rooster, don't you think it is a bit late for looting? Our silver haired friend already took what seems like the guy's only possession worth metioning."
"I am looking for papers."
"Papers? Paper money ain't a thing. Yet."
"Not that kind of paper. I am looking for a letter. Instructions. Something. The guy didn't seem smart enough to have been evading imperial forces for so long."
"I'll give you that, he wasn't exactly bright. If he had been, he would have fled when he saw his men were dying."

Taking a knife from his belt, Rooster cut part of the corpse's boots, showing a small piece of paper hidden within them.

"A letter. I told you Fede. Honoured Knights of the Order of Heaven, I believe I have something you might want to see."

Khaiel, can you look over my sheet again, I think you may have gotten a few things mixed up...
Like what? I am seeing nothing wrong. What in particular?
How am I dealing identical damage with a Slim Sword as an Iron one? How am I 20 points more accurate with said Slim Sword despite it having only 10 points more accuracy? Why is my evasion different at by 7 points between the two?
First, the Slim Sword has 15 more accuracy than the Iron Sword. With that in mind, look at your Trainee Special Skill.
It gives you +5 Hit and Evasion and +1 Damage when using swords with weight below your CON. Slim Sword's WT is below your CON, Iron Sword's isn't.

That's why you have the same damage with both, and +20 Hit and +7 Evasion with the Slim Sword (+5 points because of the bonus to evasion of the Special Trainee Skill, +2 points because your AS is 1 point higher with the Slim Sword).

The Skill (with its effects) is on your character sheet.

I find your lack of faith disturbing

Anyway, if you really need to have the numbers posted for some reason I don't understand, then you'll have to wait. I got a birthday cake waiting and it ain't going to eat itself.

Also it gives quite a lot of possible targets to those using the Judgement Tome that is effective against Critical Eye (can't remember the name now)

As things go back to normal, Rooster and Federico approach Kautof. It seems they are curious about the sword he just got for himself. Both of them get to where Kautof is, almost ignoring him and looking only at the sword.

"You thing that is what I think it is, Fede?"
"A crude mass produced weapon?"
"Yes. But it seems it used to have a symbol on the blade."
"Yup, and they used some kind of acid to make sure it was erased. They don't do swords like they used to any more. Back in the day you poured acid on a sword's blade and the blade would stay the same... I'd say the symbol is the Daorland's seal, by the way."
"How do you know? But now that you say it... It... It might be. Yes, the curves that weren't erased suggest that..."
"Well yes, the curves sugest that. That and the coat of arms of Galgados under the guard."
"And here I was thinking that you were a genius."
