It brings a tear thinking that we've come so far.

If it weren't for piracy, I would've killed myself out of boredom by now. I must've played every retail game released since 1990.

Bumping to say I have an amazing new avatar. And that I'll make reasonable's avatar an actual monocle. With glass and everything. Probably tommorow.

When people designate thousands of tiles for digging, controlling how often and where people look for dig jobs is the single most important thing to consider.  I'm pretty sure I know why the timers are messed up for vertical shafts.  For now, removing and adding the designation should jump start them, though that's quite irritating, of course.

The sporadic mining stops happen for me even when I am mining out a relatively small room (3x3 to 10x10).

This happens to me as well, but most of the time when a miner finishes his 'group' (the series of connected tiles which he mines out) he just stops until I redesignate. I think it may be a problem with job priority, since he goes all the way back to the meeting area until he starts mining again, or walks about 5-6 tiles away until he starts if I do not have a meeting zone. Needless to say, this makes mining take MUCH longer than it needs to, due to the walking back and forth for no reason.

He should implement the 'find midden magma tubes' part of regional prospector into the search, since there is no sites on mountains with exposed magma vents that I can find, even with many worlds generated at 20+ volcanism.
