Received a phonecall. From a call centre, I assume in India. They were apparently a UKIP funding something or other.Hypocrites possibly, but I don't think they'll attempt to solicit donations. Especially in a way that would make them look like hypocrites, like outsourcing call centres. The scam theory seems more likely.
Now, this either means UKIP is using overseas call centres to solicit donations, or some scammers are being stupid enough to think thank UKIP of all people might use overseas call centres. Either UKIP are hypocrites or the guy running a scam is a tool.
Gotta go fast.
Also there's probably no FPS cap.
Right-o! Also, i apologize if i come off as condescending, i have an admittedly pretty annoying tendency to explain everything to people as if they don't know anything. If y'alls think i'm overstepping my boundaries, please do let me know. Either that, or make it clear that you don't want me to pounce upon you with advice. :U
and now for Rageworm JeremyI'm not going to touch his dirt...Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Well hey, you're off to a good start! Thanks!
I have to say that it looks a bit weird that the spirally part just like pops in out of nowhere.Yeah, I'll change that later.
Also, depending on how the beam is to function (quick flash versus continuous raking beam of death), you may want to make the fade in/out times a bit different from each other. It's a quick flash, triggered when someone walks into it in its "idle" state (an animation consisting of just the first two frames of this animation). The actual animation has a shorter fade in time and a longer fade out time, but I couldn't really show that in the gif.
if you want to be super cheeky and add a lot of coolness, you can shift the entire sprite forward one length in no less than 3 steps* (so you move it 1/3rd the total height in one frame, and wrap the top around to the bottom), which, when looped, will give a neat visual of the spiral flowing forwards. Also, if you vary the brightness of the beam, you can produce a neat pulsing effect, if you want. That's pretty cool. I'll consider it.
