Dwarves should give you a "hollow sound" warning when they get near a cave, etc, like they do with heat and dampness.

That would help prevent accidentally digging into a cave. Maybe make it an option that only the most skilled of miners would be able to do.

I got rid of the snow display during world gen, made scorching areas available again, and added parameters and parameter sets to make worlds that are surrounded by water on all sides for people that like that look.

I've been leaning more towards a combo - imagine four balls connected to a central staircase between them. That will limit the incorrect pathing while still keeping workshops away from sleeping areas; etc. I do like a central staircase; perfect for light and to prevent cave adaption.

Toady will merge. It was an example threat of what migt be dropped if a release were to be rushed because of donations issues. But there are no issues; our funds will flow with the force of twelve z levels of 7/7 water; the release will be launched forth! It sails high! It hits the bugs! It explodes in gore!

In that vein - will bigger animals produce more leather? Will a dwarf be fully clothed in a cape made from a sinke kitten leather?

Will burrows allow us to separate the sleeping barraks from the training ones?

The most common reason for a non-injured dwarf to doe of thirst is because they are stuck. If many die, check the stairs and doors. Recruit one that is thirsty and station him in the brewpit. If he can't get there, you have a problem.

Look at the cancellation messages, too. They may have a hint.

The PPC machines were most certainly Macs; the G5s were decently powerful. But they're now four years old - it may not be worth supporting for Linux. For Mac I think the binary is already fat with PPC and Intel.

I want artifact moods for more professions: a brewer makes a barrel of rotgut that'd make the Hammerer cry and the Baron forget a mandate; a marksdwarf insists on targets to pincushion from half-way across the world; a soap maker goes and washes half the fort - or half the dwarves!

You'd probably need to be able to "consume" artifacts to make it work.

Maybe ever artifact materials. Not sure what you'd do with them.

I noticed that my magma forge allows me to designate an Adamantine object to be made; but I've not seen any adamantine yet ...
