also, and realizing this probably belongs in the suggestion thread rather than here, is it/will it be possible to set fortress mode to start out as paused on embark/reclaim, so we can give initial orders before the dorfs start taking breaks and getting drinks? (realizing there might already be a switch in the init file that does this that I just don't know about.)

Is it possible to mod the game so that certain music plays when, for example, you are under siege, someone becomes legendary (CoD level up sound anyone?) etc?

There are a few .ogg files in the data/sound directory, but it looksl ike all you can do is replace the song_game and song_title files, besides the movie noises.

Are rope ladders or other ways to climb down without building a staircase on the lower level in this release? I'd love to be able to make a giant pit with smooth walls.

That's fine with me; it can be handled internally as INT or even BCD; I just want stones that aren't zero but very close to it.

I think this is the second request this week; it should be possible to do. I think mediawiki actually supports it; you don't need the history, though.

Someone could make a reference/cheat sheet, too.

I wonder how much the materials rewrite will affect prices; in my opinion it isn't fine-grained enough: common stone should be worth pennies; not one dwarfbuck. This would allow for more reasonable crafts.

I suggest you lock the doors.
Can a beserk/insane dwarf open a door thats been marked as forbidden or do you have to use a lever?

An insane dwarf is the same as a goblin; it cannot open a forbidden door (maybe not even one that is simply closed) and doesn't have buildingdestroyer and cannot deconstruct the door.

However, I have seen tantruming dwarves destroy normal doors and workshops.

Cave tunnels, too, underground highways; basically, infinite supplies of baddies inside.

However, as cage/stone traps are still as powerful as ever, it shouldn't be too hard.
