http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4_zaZ3utUY has all the instructions.

Look at it this way - the first few fortresses you run on the new version will probably fail in ridiculous ways anyway, so you might as well get them over with.

Probably the high-bandwidth stuff (talks, releases, etc) should be hosted on other servers.

Couldn't the talks be hosted on Youtube or some other high-bandwidth site?

I use ramps and whatnot to build up a level, and then use bridges to make catwalks as scaffolding.

Note that you want to be careful when taking them apart; and probably not use wood, as dwarves may be collecting the wood when the bridge under them is dismantled (that's how the only two dwarves to die in construction accidents died).

The outer wall has to be made from cast obsidian. There is no other option.

If your name was "Just awoke" you'd have trouble resting, too.

It's already the 17th somewhere, probably.

In the time you took to post in this thread you could have posted the save to some place somewhere and reported the bug.

A reproducible crash from a save file is a wonderful thing.

Anyway, this thread should be in the bug reports forum.

https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Bug_writing_guidelines

These are the bug reporting guidelines for Firefox, but they apply to any software.

The most important thing you can find that helps the developers 1000% is reproducibility. If you can make the bug happen every time, it's already almost solved.

That's strange, when I reclaimed my failed fortress I could see everything I had mined, at least on the top layers.

Remember to check the actual performance of the processors you're looking to buy; it makes no sense to see that Intel's $1500 processor is the fastest on the market and then assume that their $100 processor is faster than the AMD $100 processor, for example.

I actually like it; you can see what's going to be in the next release, which is cool.

I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of mantis yet; it seems quite limited compared to something like Bugzilla. But maybe it's just what I'm used to.
