some questions for pc users if you have a spare moment.

what system os do you use primarily for gaming (linux/mac/windows?)

do you prefer games optimized for your system or don't care if it is cross-platform (at a loss of performance)?

do you prefer single vision games or ones that are extensible through a scripting language (lua)/modding support?

thinking of starting an all hunter/trapper embark after my current fortress finishes burning down.
any suggestions on embark profile, location and starting strategy?

the concept is to build an above ground hunting lodge.  some builds; carpentry, butchery, tanning/leather working, craftsdwarf for bone carving.  presumably i'll be able to sell some leather and bone goods to the first caravan in exchange for seeds, drink, picks and maybe an anvil and some live poultry.
