Forum Games and Roleplaying / Plot Twist!

Make a statement. The person who replies will make a statement that takes things in a new direction that is scary, humorous, or otherwise surprising to the reader. Some examples:

1. Bob changed, got into bed, and turned out the light.
- Had it been his house the night may have been more restful for him.

2. Until now Bob had a long work commute.
- However, the recent mudslide had destroyed his home, and the Happy Time Inn is located only two blocks from his employ.

3. Bob, and Sally went to dinner.
- Bob is a cannibal.

4. Bob layed in his bed, unable to sleep.
- The whispering from beneath his bed saying "wait till he's asleep then we'll kill him" may have been a contributing factor.

I think you get the point. I'll get things started...

The RP is simple. Ever week, you suggest rules for the RP, vote, then play, all while suggesting rules! You have half a week to suggest, and half a week to vote. The RPing will start after the first rules is implemented.

There is only one rule for now.

1.You mat only suggest one rule!

The game will start in 1985. Real life platforms other than PC and Arcade do not exist, so we essentially ARE the entire game industry.

Posting twice in a row will be explicitly banned to prevent players from out-performing others, though you can post multiple times per day to show your company is active enough to have multiple releases/major events per month. Each REAL LIFE day is equal to one quarter year (Q1, etc) in game (for a total of just under 4 months IRL to reach 2014), so you have a day (the date will be shown on your post) to do any action before the turn is over for everyone. Fast forwarding may be considered if we know in advance that all players have no plans for an entire in-game quarter year.

Here's a company sheet:

Example Studios
Founded: Q2, 2013
Founder: Ekafsi Emansiht
HQ: Springfield, North Takoma, USA
Description: Enter background info on the company here.

---

The first two companies other than my own to register get $50,500,000 in starting cash but MUST launch a console (which costs $50,000,000). Everyone else starts with $500,000 and must save money if they want to launch a platform.

That's what I've got. Is anyone interested? Also, http://gdtrp.wikia.com/wiki/GDTRP_Wiki

You are a god. The year is 00. The world is perfect. You are tasked with creating life on the planet, and having it survive. You have made a bet with the other gods. If non of your creatures are left on the planet, you will die, and another god will take you place. Good luck.

To not die, you need to create creatures that can defend themselves and fight against other monsters. However, your creatures need to be offensive as well to take other enemies out so you can get PP. Oh yeah, about PP.

Power Points!
Each turn, you get a certain amount of Power Points to do something, create a creature, influence a creature, create a giant hell storm to kill creatures, all up to you. You start the game with 10 PP. Your PP is replenished each turn.

Getting more PP
(You can complete some of these more then one time. More will be added soon.)
Code: [Select]
Survive for 5 years - 2 PP
One of your creatures survives for twenty years - 5 PP
A creature dies - 1 PP
Your creature die - 3 PP
One of your creatures get's the final kill on another creature -  6 PP
5 different species of your creatures are on the battlefield at the same time - 1 PP
You have made over 20 species of creatures - 4 pp

Now let's found out how to create a creature!

First, the base cost for create a creature is 6 PP. The first thing you choose is it's name and if it is vegetation or an Animal. Next You get three features to add to your creature. Each feature after that costs 2 PP. Then, you may pay 1, 2, 3, or 4 PP for the amount of spawned creatures. (1 is 25, 2 is 50, 3 is 75, and 4 is 100). Then, you will give a small description of the creature. Then, what climate it is in. Remember not to make it to OP or I will Nerf the creature. Here is an example creature using only 10 PP.

Examples
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Remember that some traits have their disadvantages. Now, after you create it, it will appear in the world, hurrah!

Instead of creating a creature or plant, you could do another action. Or do both!

PP Actions

Code: [Select]
Influence - Influence your creatures (4 PP)
Drought - Create a drought that year - May have bad effects on your creatures (11 PP)
Flood - Create a short flood - Creatures on higher areas may dodge it (8 PP)
Evolve - I will add a random trait to the creature of your choice! (9 PP)
(More coming soon!)

Now, that about it. Oh yeah, all gods will have immunity for five years from getting eliminated! So good luck, and those who don't sign up in time get to be on the waitlist! Yeah!

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Create-A-world Again!
« on: February 26, 2015, 02:45:59 pm »
The game is simple, start out in year 001, and write something that happened that year. You can do anything, have dragons appear, have magic discovered, have a evil government, you decide!
Example
Person One
001: The dwarves were discovered, apparently they love ale!
Person Two
002: The dwarves go to war with the elves, who love wolves!
And so on and so forth!

Oh, and new rules. What happens, happens. No complaining, and no world wipes. Be nice and have fun.

000: The world is born!

Forum Games and Roleplaying / The MTG league of Bay12
« on: November 21, 2014, 11:00:25 am »
So, for those of you who don't know, there is a site where you can play MTG in your browser, which is pretty sweet.

While playing on untap, I came up with an idea, what if we had a Bay12 MTG league? This post is it, once I get 6 or more players, the game will start. We will be using untap to play the games, and players will need to coordinate to play against each other.

You may only release ONE game in your first Season. You may only release ONE game in your second Season IF you advertised said game in the first season.

There are NO exact dates, because the only two guarantees are that a Season is a period of 3 months and that the "first come, first serve" posting order allows unlimited posts, so we need to assume that all posts on a given real day took place before the end of the last month in a Season, And please remember, stick to the technology of the time!

Now, Orange Otter Studios and Deitarius Wall Development get 5,500,000 to release consoles! ((you have to do this, but can release the console and game in first season))

Q1 (Winter) 1985

It is the year 1985. New Coke is terrible, Reagan is the President, and the video game industry is 20 years old!

Home computing is finally a reality, and PCs and Arcade cabinets are highly successful gaming platforms.

On top of all this is Goliath Games, who have just recently released a new console...

Presenting the GameTron!

Featuring astounding 8-bit graphics, two controller ports, a bundled 4-directional d-pad controller and a ROM cartridge game loading system, the GameTron is the future of the video games! Now available in stores!

Buyers of the GameTron have discovered a pleasant surprise upon opening the console's packaging... It comes with a free Demo Cartridge! The Demo Cartridge has a free trivia game on it to keep kids busy until more games arrive for the platform.

But rumors are about that two competing consoles are on their way... Perhaps Goliath is about to meet its David?

Upcoming Games

After announcing it last fall and advertising the game heavily this winter, Goliath Games is preparing to release a new game on the GameTron in the spring, using an IP of a Goliath subsidiary called Gadgeteer Games...

Aquatopia

Releasing to: North America, United Kingdom, Europe, Japan
Release Date: Summer 1985
It is the year 2050. Mankind is running low on land thanks to increasing urbanization and agriculture combined with the needs to sustain the environment. So we turn to the sea...

In Aquatopia, you are in charge of the underfunded Canadian Oceanic Colonization project (or the Mexican equivalent in the spanish translations). Your job is to colonize an area of the sea floor, dealing with food, desalinated water, air, electricity, money, public support and government support, all while building up the colony.

The goal is to get the highest peak amount of cash over your entire game, which is outputted as your high score when you inevitably fail; the game is very much a survival run. The game will have a range of difficulty settings, but high score tables are separate for each run. Achievements will be included in this game as well, with a full 50 different ones to unlock!

Features
*Mine resources for extra cash!
*Unlock advanced buildings like geothermal power plants, submarine hotels and underwater superhighways!
*Random events! Find a sunken ship? Make it a tourist attraction for continuous cash flow, sell it to a museum for a modest amount of money and an increase in public support, or sell the salvaged artifacts on the black market for big bucks at the cost of public support! And watch out for undersea volcanos, landslides and earthquakes! You may even find a lost underwater city...

More details on Aquatopia will follow soon.
