DF Modding / Help with stonesense

Hi, I've been having some problems with DFhack, and in particular, stonesense. For some reason, when I use dfhack 0.40.08-r2(and DF 0.40.08) , My game will crash when using the command "stonesense overlay" to play DF in isometric graphics. It happens on both of my computers, running windows 7 64 bit and windows 8 32 bit. Help with this is appreciated, and I can supply relevant information as required.
PS- using the commands ssense and stonesense works, but these only open stonesense in a new window, not actually in the game, with mosue input etc. (like this https://i.imgur.com/hJdsMiC.png)
