DF General Discussion / Re: Required support math equation

If it is a rectangular area, you will require ceil(xsize/6) squares on the x axis, and ceil(ysize/6) for the y axis. You will waste ceil(xsize/6)*ceil(ysize/6). This seem obvious so I might have missed the point of your question ...

Yeah I try to keep it updated, but some offsets I never use (such as the master id for pets) might be outdated. If you look at the python code in the other files, you'll see that I documented some structures, such as part of the inventory.

BTW you will see here that the quality of artifacts is 5, just the same as "masterpiece". Artifact weapons are likely to be just as powerful as masterpiece ones :(

I made a new section on the wiki page so that people would find the .exe easily. Valdemar: you are free to alter it however you want.

It should end by "of gods", but it is too long!

If you are packing the K' (http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=bHxyHlFZ778), you sure should feel safe. Anyway, it won't be of much use here, as I believe the easiest way, as suggested, would be to craft a malicious save file, then use to to execute arbitrary code in the context of the DF process. Your virus scanner will be of no use against this threat.

0.14 out, changes:
    *  zoom is back
    * custom alerts are easier to add
    * corrected the map offsets, added a "revealVein.py" script

If the dworf name is changed in the game, then you should just have to save, and next time you should have its name altered. Did you click the 'save' button in the name dialog box ? (or is it the creature edit dialog? keep forgetting ...)

Because they're faster.

SDL might be useful as a fallback, though I'd prefer curses (DF on ssh! Yay! I really might write that!), but the fact is that while modern computers are fast enough to show fullscreen video at, oh, 24fps - it takes some 20-40% of your CPU to do so, depending on cpu and of course screen size.

OpenGL allows us to get the same effect with 0-4% CPU use, by moving most of the work to the GPU. See?

Blitting 2D sprites should not be that expensive. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was much faster than opengl calls. It's just a bunch of memcpy after all ...

Ok, I'll try to resolve this issue and publish a new version.

Well I should have been more specific : it still works the same, it has the same bugs :)

I'll investiguate this exhaustion problem, but could you confirm that you alter the dwarves states while the game is paused? If you do not, you might set it to 0 just before the program decrements the value to -1, and as it's unsigned, it becomes 0xffffffff ...

And before anybody asks, it still works with the latest version, no changes needed.
