Welcome to my mod! If you like, please post! I LOVE hearing about how your fortress collapsed due to a single dire wolf, or how your invincible Duegar militia routed an 80-man yuan-ti siege.  :D

WARNING: THIS IS STILL IN TESTING. IT MAY BE UNBALANCED.

Piscesi chant terrible prayers to their flesh-hungry god; Duegar cackle maliciously and summon terrible beasts from Hell itself; Illithids scheme in enslaving cities; Bullywugs gurgle and croak in their foul swamps - only a taste of Dungeon Fortress once it is complete.

Now, if anyone wants to help, please post! I could do with another pair of hands, mainly for workshops and reactions. Also, it would be REALLY fantastic if there was someone capable and willing to create a texture pack.

« on: November 05, 2014, 06:13:32 pm »
Twice now I have attempted to join DFFD, and twice I have failed. The email has been sent, but when I click on it, it says that there are no activation details?!

DF Gameplay Questions / Strange Mood
« on: October 29, 2014, 06:20:52 pm »
A mason has gone into a secretive mood, and is asking for bone, wood, stone and cloth. He wouldn't go and get any of it. Now, he is thirsty, and the cloth is caravan-bought, but would that affect it?

Apart from a short time on an Orcish Fortress, I have never played Masterwork or 34.11 before. I am familiar with DF, certainly - but not MW. So, with that in mind, let us play a Human Fortress!

I will be genning a world soon, based on your votes! I don't know how to add a poll, so just reply with your votes please:

Should I have a: Savage, Neutral, or Good World? Should I activate the Fortress Defense races: none, easy, easy and medium, hard, or all? Poll over! I have used a formula to add the votes and found the average to be most easy and medium. The list is below.

I have enabled: Frogmen, Stranglers, Werewolves, Foul Blendecs, Serpentmen, White Tigermen, Beak Wolves, Ferric Elves, Badgermen, Pandashi and Raptormen.

My Medium world has: 1524 embark points, a very short history, medium savagery, civs and sites, no aquifers, frequent minerals and very high beasts. If you want to be humaned, give suggestions, or anything, please post.

That's it for now. :D

DF Modding / Where am I going wrong on this creature?
« on: October 02, 2014, 06:37:49 pm »
I'm trying to mod a playable kuo-toa like civ, but the error log wouldn't recognize the tissues etc. Where am I making the mistake?

I copied and altered the dwarf body. I'm sorry about the dwarf comments; didn't have time to remove em.

DF Gameplay Questions / No First Migrants
« on: September 27, 2014, 10:41:41 pm »
I have, on two successive forts, not recieved one or both of the first two waves of migrants. I believe this to be due to the fact that, believing thatthey would always arrive, I set my population cap to 5.

Importantly however,  what will hapeen if I increase the pop cap now (being In autumn of the first year?)

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / How do you arrange your dwaves' jobs?
« on: September 23, 2014, 02:15:59 pm »
I embark with: three miners, one carpenter/woodcutter, one farmer/brewer, one mechanic/architect (who is quickly appointed to the broker and bookkeeper) and one mason/engraver/stone crafter. Once immigrants start to appear, more farmers are assigned, a jeweller and metalsmith are found, and production begins. I then start to assign dedicated porters (usually including my mechanic at first). I'll get a butcher and fisher (as applicable) within long, preferably with a tailor as well. I have a maximum of two carpenter/woodcutter/wood crafters and usually about two masons, to curn out the vast amount of furniture and stone crafts needed (trading is an important part of my fortresses, and I never have enough doors.) I may disable labours on certain people if others are far better at it.

Interestingly, my first immigrant wave (just received on this fort) consists of TWO dwarves and no animals. One is a good farmer (and is a great cook); his friend is a very good gem setter and High/Grand Master Mason. I think my first shipment to the mountain home will now consist of furniture.

DF Gameplay Questions / Trade Liason?

After my first autumn (using Direforged mod), the trade liason has completely failed to show up. This has rather confused me.

DF General Discussion / Coolest Artifact?
« on: September 08, 2014, 02:43:50 pm »
So far, I've only had one artifact - an extremely macabre camel bone coffin.

Oddly, the farmer who produced it had no prior experience and was not allowed to do bone carving... du du du DU!
