So, my monarch arrived (and thankfully for the first time in 10 plays was not a vampire), but her entourage is completely missing. I am sitting a bit over 200 dwarves, so I'm wondering if they are snipped off due to the population cap? Anyone else experience this? I tried searching the boards but all I could find was the reverse problem of the entourage arriving without the monarch.
HAH! You are lucky. My current monarch is a MINOTAUR who we think is a GODDESS.

You could also create new castes; most caste-level tags override creature tags (for instance, you could create a caste that was far stronger.)

Only one that doesnt give coins is the human merchant/worker. All other do give coins.
Which race is it, and which workshop?
Ah. I've been renting the foreign and local stalls to humans. Bah.

Hey. Just wanted to ask - on the fort in my sig, I rented market stalls in spring for 3 months. It is now autumn, they haven't left. I need those coins - am I meant to do something?
You get the coins the instant you rent it out. If they dont leave (which they should), you can kick them out manually.

I tried several times, looked all around, etc.

No coins. I'll check tomorrow.

Nice narrative, I love the whole "disdainful upper-class Englishman" shtick. I'll take a bureaucrat if you don't mind, when you next have one available.

You might want to mark your starting population with something special, as unfortunately migrants are almost always "atheist" since it seems only historical figures can pledge themselves to gods in pre-.40. So unless you get lucky and get famous people or founding members of a previous player-fort, your starting seven will determine the total number and types of gods you're capable of praying to.

Also, according to my copied list of sphere effects from IndigoFenix's thread, Dreams and Agriculture are equally useless, beyond the usual gravity-pounding-invaders-into-the-ground effect.
Thanks - the current narrator is actually destined to be one, but I can easily get another from the largely useless twerps about to show up.

Now, I'm going to find how a Minotaur became queen of my home civ, and what happened, as she is no longer queen.

Marsh Titan, rather than Hill or whatnot... and radiates giving and kindness?

I decided it was trying to set an example, so in the spirit of giving I kindly radiated my magma cistern into it and that was that.
I've heard of a few titans in MW that radiate kindness. Its just part of the epic randomness of DF that caused a Minotaur to be my queen and my General's profession to be "Drunk".

Well, I had a guy (human in MW) who had only average or well above stats... but nothing like this. Very impressive.

I'm working on a Gnoll mod and wondering: is there a way to use the ALCOHOL_DEPENDANT behaviour, but somehow change the substance required? I want to make it so that essentially a gnoll would "require fresh meat to get through the working day". I'm sure the behaviour of that specific token is hard coded, but is there some sort of way to emulate its effects with a different material? Maybe through some variation of whatever tokens are used by vampires? Or are those hard coded as well?
Cool - I'm working on a mod that adds a load of D&D creatures.

DFhack is probably your main option.
