When they look up to see what hit them they see the sun and start choking on their own vomit.

How do dorfs sleep outside without choking on their own vomit?

9602
I have never had an issue with falling items on stairs and have long since switched to exclusively using them for up/down transport.

I had a couple of times where people fighting fell a decent distance. I install hatches now and then and it works great. Use a light wood and you can have dorfs fall several z levels without getting hurt, but they rarely drop stuff or fall in my experience.

That's dirty pool, chopping their junk off and beating them to death with it is one thing, you can even stab his kids in the throat and eat their faces... but you don't touch a dorfs beard!

Where do engravings go when you toggle the visibility off?

I found out that while Molemarians may be blood thirsty murderers, both mole men and giant moles are pushovers.
So now he's Soul of the Molemen...

I wonder if there woudl be an easier route doing the second part, allowing simultaneous adventurer logins while there was an active fort player.

Even if you couldn't get the same craziness of multiple overseers, having other overseers retire now and then to roam around as adventurers sounds kind of TOTALLY FREAKING AMAZING... just my .2 dorfbucks.

Just for warning, if you try to embark on a volcano anyways after making the world shallower to get easy access to the magma sea, make sure you don't have your caverns too open... I've been consistently getting drained volcanic tubes that are open to the caverns... oh wait, I think I might still have the thicker layer 4 from when I was trying to get big spires instead of just cutting them out entirely... hmmmm, wonder what else that can do.

Better than it does when you remove the only tile holding up the floor you're standing on.

How does a 40x40 floor of soil support itself by one corner?

9608
Just got it set up to work with the 1920x1080 and no borders, the 15x15 text actually works better because it's easier to size it up just a little to be more legible while the bigger tiles work as they are. Think it's pretty much the vanilla color scheme, but I'm too used to it to be able to deciper what I'm looking at otherwise.

Dwarves know from some voice in the echoes behind their eyes that nobody likes nobles, and don't seem to understand that mayors are just another type of noble.

Why don't people like the explanation that the first world was seeded with anvils, killing everyone, necessitating the creation of a second world with anvils left lying around here and there, at which point Armok decided he liked this world creation stuff and kept going?

Obviously they use the stepladder to knock down the fruit 2 spaces up.

Wait, how do they do that?

I'm not sure you know how many people you made happy just now, I've still gotta fiddle with it since I've got the wrong mapping for other stuff, but I'll definitely have to play around with that after seeing it in action:

Fixed the overrides and included the 15x15 text tiles properly.

I like that, very pretty indeed.

createitem BAR COAL:COKE
(INORGANIC is usually not necessary, and is incorrect in this case.)

The symbols bit isn't too hard, as an example I added this to my symbols.xml a while back and it started to load up but crashed due to it still being too early:
Code: [Select]
    <symbol-table name='v0.40.14 linux' os-type='linux'>
        <md5-hash value='8ab84807a405a7fa697847e6b3ecb00f'/>
    </symbol-table>
Got my git discovery set wrong though, need to figure out what is going on there, I'm too used to relying on pacman I guess.
It crashed because, while you had a <symbol-table> entry in symbols.xml, every offset was missing. Like I said earlier, you'd need to check out a branch of dfhack and df-structures that are up-to-date for 0.40.14 (which both of Quietust's forks are) and compile DFHack from source for it to work with 0.40.14. There were significant structure changes between 0.40.13 and 0.40.14, so using an old build of DFHack will almost certainly crash when it tries to access changed structures (although the crash in your case was probably due to the missing addresses in symbols.xml).
Ahhhh, well, that's probably why I'm grateful for you all having the more arcane aspects handled, I suspected that nothing at all would happen, so the way it started to do the red and yellow twbt loading was a surprise. I'll have to check the git repo and see if I can smush something working together, though I'm not in a big rush due to the "oh god I miss my cousin, I'M GONNA GO PUNCH A BABY" state currently, as I'm anticipating a .15 update might not be too far away.

@Max:
I suddenly became curious after your request. Here is quick mockup, showing how it will look on 30px with 15px hatch fill:

It's mostly Bisasam parts like you use, just with the Phssthpok 24x bits for the smoothed walls and I think the bed+some of the minerals now that I can use them with twbt, and thanks, I'll have to swap that in in a bit.

Looks great, works much better with the semi-cartoony spacefox look.

I had that happen with the evil biome part of my map. Wasn't sure but then later I forgot why I removed the plot there and built a farmers workshop there, and promptly remembered that while yak hair isn't  really dangerous, it WILL try to strangle anyone within range.
