DF Bug Reports / Re: weird bug with killing berserk dwarves

sorry :-[  I've played for a while, but this is the first time I've used the forum.  I've done what you said and put the bugged save up and noted it on mantis.

DF Bug Reports / weird bug with killing berserk dwarves

Okay, this is the second time this has happened. Dwarf gets fey mood, fails fey mood, goes berserk.  I send milita in to deal with said dwarf.  Killing dwarf results in squad fighting amongst themselves and killing each other.  Is it possible that a loyalty cascade started?  I can upload a save file while it is happening to help resolve the issue if it helps

You can always just (f)orbid the item they are holding when you (v)-look at the unit's (i)nventory.  They drop what they're hauling when you do that.

And generally speaking, I find that a burrow, if properly set up, is reasonably prompt at getting dwarves to move.  At least, as fast as the suicidal idiots can ever be bothered to move...

If your problem is that you're not trying to use burrows until after the goblins are in sight-range, then your problem is that you're far too late.  Dwarves will ignore all orders when in the panic of seeing a goblin.  Dwarf Fortress is not an RTS where you give moment-by-moment orders.  Dwarf Fortress is a management game where you prepare for challenges ahead of time, because by the time it's on your doorstep, you don't have the capacity to give orders.

ah, ok, that would work I guess.  What I was mainly talking about was this:http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=600

Its so bad, especially how dwarves just stand there when they are hauling something and proceed to to mauled by the nearest goblin.  Is there any DFHack tweak I should be aware of or has anyone found any good alternative to the burrow system as of yet?

DF Bug Reports / possible buggy loyalty cascade?
« on: June 27, 2015, 10:47:28 pm »
So, long story short, I had a dwarf who went into a strange mood, which I couldn't find the items for, he goes berserk and I send my military after him. All according to plan right?  Well, not exactly, I sent my marksdwarf squad and my axedwarf squad after him, after which some infighting occured between the axedwarves and the marksdwarves, which resulted in my military commander murdering two dwarves somehow.  Strangely enough, on my Justice screen there are no murder cases or anything, and the wiki has absolutely nothing on this.  So does anyone have any sort of Idea what happened?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Problems with dumping
« on: September 27, 2014, 03:11:20 pm »
Has anyone had issues with dumping since the last update? My dwarfs won't move all that excess rock and its making me sad :( plus bothering my OCD a little *twitch*

I designate stuff, have my zone ready, and the objects just sit there.  The objects in question aren't even forbidden as I noticed a bunch of dwarfs had moved some stone designated for dumping into a stockpile
