General Discussion / Re: What are you reading?

http://www.theallguardsmenparty.com/index.html

Basically a Dark Heresy campaign log, wherein the entire party is imperial guardsmen. Very entertaining.

[I mean, Gwolfski is literally writing the best book possible on steam power, your steam tech will be good, it's just that you'll have to give the thing to some engineers and let them spend a while figuring out how to actually use any of it, plus there's the issue of the fuel you already have problems with.]

[If you want to go electrical, you'll need more than lead-acid. That shit's heavy, not good for vehicles.]

603
(Nah, this was pretty low yield, most of the shit from it landed within fifteen klicks or so. It is worth noting that any kind of powered transport vehicle is months out, even if others help Gwolf.)

604
[If it weren't for the fact that doing so would render more of the fallout airborne, I'd say that's a good idea. I'll let you figure it out with the other players in-character, shall I?]

605
[It also only works if you know how to make, design, or use explosives. Do you?]

607
I agree. I mean, one way to do it is put out a military request for civilian designers to make us versions of something we want, and then test their designs and see what we think. A lot of militaries did that rather than try to run their own development programs.

608
Ayyy, somebody who disappeared came back!

609
((Cody, i make explosives. And i didnt kill anyone friendly yet! I just have to do it in the caverns a few miles away from base. sigh. but there'll be steam trains and stuff! Transport Tycoon!))

(Y'know, you say that, but usually you just make vague actions and then try to pull things nobody would let you get away with out of thin air.)

[Yep. Lots of fun and not-so-fun things going on in the real world. Also you guys get to know about the weird time differences caused by my sporadic schedule in-character, since the Homeland keeps going right on schedule while your characters' subjective time edges forward in fits and starts.]

611
[Y'all get to know about Brexit. Woooooo!]

612
[Also there's a really big war going on and you're sort of a military base.]

613
[It's not a terribly complex thing, by the standards of the Thaumotechnics-equipped equivalent of the 21st century, but you don't have any active research projects or prototypes working on accomplishing it. You totally can though, and Fish's character probably has at least 60% of a plan for one in his PEA's archive, so it shouldn't be too difficult.]

614
[I mean, Fish is still in his original, quite human body, and it was much better nourished as a child than is usual here. He's probably in more danger of running into doorframes than you are, at least for now. :V Of course, he's also a comparatively weedy wizard, as opposed to being inexplicably super duper ripped-lookin', like yourself.]

[You're a skilled architecture dude and give a general impression of soldieriness, plus the other Homelanders vouch for you, so you're in the army now administrative personnel. The dwarves, on average, vary from about 3' to 4'6", and like to build big. You're about 5'4" at this point, so it's fine for now.]
