It exist in my country a terrible and horrible tradition... ...Some special task force has to rise a puppy dog from 3 years and after that must kill it to prove his discipline.  !!!Terrible!!!. And now what would happen if we try it in dwarf fortress with our dwarves?. I don't have much time because of my job to try it, and it would be interesting read some experiments results on this. FOR SCIENCE!!
Is this an Unsullied joke?

Fortress Mode:
Picks can be assigned as weapons for militia along with axes.
Any miners/woodcutters carrying one will also use it if they get in a fight.

Adventurer Mode:
Anything goes as far as I'm aware, you can throw fluffy wamblers as weapons if you want.

Well fall came, and I actually had a path cleared for the dwarven caraven since most of the forest burnt down. Then all like 8 wagons insta disappear before they even got to my trading post. Wtf.

All I see right after is some water buffalo's running away. Is this a bug?

EDIT:Alright this is some sort of bug, all the equipment that the wagons had was dropped on the ground. Time to stack it in my quantum stockpile! I would've bought most of it anyways I'm loaded on silver crafts and cut gems. But not I feel horrible for gaining an advantage from this bug Q.Q

Something scared the caravans and they scuttled, check for corpses and combat logs.

I've done a lot of turkey breeding in df2012, and for me 7 is the surprising one: it used to be that a male being on the map somewhere would be enough, I guess that has changed?

Not sure whether you updated the wiki based on this info, but it seems to match the current wiki content perfectly:

"When a compatible male and a female of the same species are present on the map, sooner or later they will breed. To do so, they will need to be situated on adjacent tiles. Breeding can be prevented by gelding males, separating males and females, caging females, or while (non-aquatic?) creatures are swimming. Caged males are still capable of breeding, assuming the female can approach the cage." (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Breeding)

"Spore Breeding" was removed for the new adjacent breeding system last year, it was in the dev notes of the release.

Someone even had a story of the outpost liaison giving birth and leaving the baby with the fort. It was still alive when she returned a year later.

Have you checked their inventories to make sure they actually claimed their weapons, they might have decided not to pick them up for some reason.
Examine a dwarf, then "i" for their inventory.

The Blue Exclamation Mark is fear/panic, your dwarves are too scared to fight.
Higher discipline will prevent this, discipline increases fairly quickly as they train.

The LNP settings are just the init settings exported to the interface for you.

Militia armed with maces.

Also if your biome reanimates you should build a deep pit and dump all corpses down it as soon as they occur.

Keep in mind that undead fliers and flier-parts can fly, and undead kobolds and kobold-parts can pick locks.

I lost a promising fort that way.
Any body part?
Can I have flying/lockpicking hair?
