DF Gameplay Questions / How do I get less swamps using Adv World Gen?

I find that Dwarf fortress produces too many large swamps and I am waiting to reduce the amount by about 1/4 and the size of them by 1/3.
How would I do this in Adv World Gen?
I do not understand the documentation so can someone help me out exactly what I need to do? Which variables do I change and to what values to reflect the above?

If I understand your images correctly, you've failed to understand how ramps work. You can not have ramps that go back and forth over the same two X/Y tiles on different Z levels, because ramps have to both go up along a wall, and have a walkable tile on the upper level continuing the direction of the ramp (a dorf walking up the ramp has to be able to walk up onto something. This can be a ramp that go up another level, but if you try to get it to return back you'll fail the "wall to climb" criterion, as there's open space there to allow the ramp from below to be usable.
You can create a spiral over 4 tiles where each ramp turns 90 degrees compared to the direction its entered from to have a minimal footprint spiral, or you can have the ramps proceed in a line (and various combinations, of course).
Note that the ramp rules themselves are the same regardless of whether you want a dorf to walk on them or whether you want a minecart to be pushed/propelled up them (the downward path can sometime work for non guided minecarts because the cart can fall down where unusable ramps are).

My Minecart system isnt working regarding the ramps. It works fine at the sub level but not on the ramps. I have checked the wiki (although some of it I didnt understand). In the hauling menu the last 3 stops (heading upward, z layer) has the 'Set dir/connect track' errors. What am I doing wrong?

Currently waiting to get into Mantis bug reports, already sent a message to one of the mods.

So in the meantime...

Is there a way to fix a corrupted world, the current game loads fine until unpaused. *Crash*
I have tested other worlds, they are fine, so its definitely the current world. Anyway of uncorrupting it? (If possible)

DF Gameplay Questions / Military barracks and items

I have a barracks spanned across 2 floors (Z Axis) an upstairs and a downstairs.

1)
The upstairs has been defined as a barracks with placed beds & cabinets.
When further defining the barracks, does 'Z: Sleep' define that this is where the dwarves will go to sleep?

2)
As for downstairs (Also defined as barracks) has Armour Stands & Weapon racks and is also the training area.
What do 'i: Indiv Eq' & 'q: Squad Eq' DO? I know what they stand for, but what do they do? Please explain in detail.

3)
I forced my dwarves to replace there clothing (Military screen, Equip, r) so they can get rid of their Caps so they can be replaced with Helmets.
Now they have thrown their old cloths all over the barracks when theres cabinets waiting to be filled.
How do I make them clean up their room (Besides yelling in their face) and prevent this from happening again?

Ok cheers guys.

Ive done more research and I think I now understand the rest (Inc Armour Skill)

However im still puzzled as to what defines what type of clothing (Breast Plate or Chain Mail, Greaves or Leggings) has better protection than the other (Exc Coverage & UBSTEP etc)

For good coverage, just choose things that sound like they cover better (mail greaves rather than thong, etc.)

We talking Coverage % or UBSTEP? (Coverage % I do understand, not hard)

Oh also, in terms of layers should I worry about Under, Over & Cover or just focus on Armour?

Im struggling with what armour to equip my dwarfs with, ive looked at the wiki and my brain goes into meltdown
The most solid thing ive got nailed is make leather shields.

As for the rest...theres just toooooo many variables:-
how much of the same item you can wear
the items weight
what type of attacks the armour is good against
coverage
layers
etc

Is there any starting tips on what i should equip my first melee squad with?
the armour, material and any cloths?

Is there any way I can make the following plumbing? The picture should be self explanetory. I just want it so that the water does not exceed the max height however the pressure is going to be the problem. Is there a way i can control the presure to get the result in the image?

As stated the Dwarfs need to be 'o'rdered to gather refuse and vermin from outside because in the current version in- and outside validation got a little bugged.

In a meeting area every animal and dwarf that is part of your fortress collects there. Try setting a Pasture using the zones (i) tool on top of some grass, and assign your animals there so they can graze and not starve.
Did you try making a corpse stockpile? Are the bodies forbidden? Also you might need to accept refuse from outside by seeting it in (o)rders under (r)efuse.

I have both a refuse & corpse pile that accepts everything. I dont know if bodies are forbidden (Im still learning how to play) orders for refuse are all on 'gather'/'save'

Dwarfs wont take away corpses.
Every-time I make a new meeting area underground the dwarfs go there as normal along with animals (pets maybe? (yaks, mules, horses etc))
Once these animals die they cause Miasma.

I have a refuse stockpile and the dwarfs can access it, however wont wont move the corpses? all dwarfs are set up for hauling everything, so this isnt the case

Why?
This is starting to get frustrating...

I also have available coffins for pets to
