Do all dwarves really need to pray that much? Do dwarves that don't care much about religion not need to pray as much? Do dwarves that don't care much about religion tend to worship gods less ardently? I see it's time for some science.

Also, try a temple to ALL gods, see if that works.

Ah, well, mechanism for and person behind transport was part of some big meta plotline that was never finished in the other two. I recommend you just do your own thing storywise here, and try not to worry about meta-plots. Believe me, they'll probably come on their own.

Huh. Wanted to join a few months ago - should have read this thing! Wouldn't have messed up quite as bad,  ::). Well, I'd like to join, looks cool, but I don't know how.

Anything a quire can do, a scroll can do too.

The only difference is whether you want to bind it afterwards.

Actually, if a dwarf is "found dead", he could have certainly died from... anything! Check any of his acquaintances, open his (v)iew, check his age, and tell us! If it's less than 140, it's NOT old age.

Go to the old DF folder. Open "data". Open "save". Select all and copy. Go to the new DF folder. Go to "data". Create the folder "save" if necessary. Paste inside "save".

Of course, this is to be taken with the usual grain of salt (i.e. very early experimental build, may crash randomly, may corrupt your saves, your binaries, your hard-drive, your soul, your firstborn, etc.).

DFHack confirmed to be... something? Something bad, like Rumplestiltskin crossed with a demon.

Not quite. In the raws, only one [DRINK] derived from each plant can be defined. That is, NO modding (w/o duplicate, dummy plants) can make a plant give either an alcohol OR a juice, not even with special reactions.

Not really, unless you have ONLY juice and no alcohol. Only one drink is possible for each plant, so you'd have to make a dummy plant for every plant in the game.

alternatively you could make a burrow full of connected floor grates over lava (since it is a orthogonal construction meaning that its mandatory to be attached to something solid like a wall, i recommend a series of 2x2 corridors forming a box as good as you can get it for floorspace) attach lever mechanisms, pull the trigger and watch them melt in your migrant foundry.

And then what? The legendary blacksmith, related to that dabbling cheesemaker, goes berserk?

No dwarf would ever do something so horrible as melt other dwarves. Unless they were insane, of course, but most dwarves are only moderately insane.
