General Discussion / Re: I like anime, do you like anime?

@Orange Wizard: You could, but this is seriously the kind of thing you want to go into spoiled as little as possible. The only thing I'd say is the recommended character route path is Childhood Friend (she's the most boring, doesn't unlock any of the others, and also sets up the most useful backstory) -> Class Pres -> Eyepatch -> Redhead airhead -> Crystal ball. You'll know who each of the things are referring to when necessary.

@Reelya: It's waaaay better than Clannad, but then again I kinda hated Clannad (except for the main girl's dad, he was AWESOME!), and probably a fair bit better than Little Busters too (which I thought was super good but lacking in some parts.)

It was fairly sad, but all but one route had an ending which I felt was fairly happy/good/closure.
To me, Rewrite was less about the sadness (though there was a lot of sadness) and more about the "holy shit" feeling it constantly gives you. It's newer than any of their other stuff that I'm aware of, so the art's high quality (and 1920x1080!)
Also, the supernatural stuff takes a lot more of a center stage than any of their other things I've seen or read.

Visual Novel: Rewrite. Get it, somehow, anyhow. Do NOT spoil yourself. If anyone else here has played it, you'd know why.

That feeling when you really want to forget a game because it's just so good you'd kill to be able to play through it again totally ignorant of the plot.

Well, I put "Map Update" in big lettering above it. Maybe I should be worrying about the perceptual ability of my players instead. :v

Honestly speaking, no idea. I'm exploring possibilities for even running the game, and it could be hosted here, or it could be done IRL with those of my friends who are quite into Witcher's lore.

Thanks for the suggestion Kila.

I'm not so sure spoilering the map image would help that much. :v

I'm trying to think of a way to run a game set in the Witcher's universe, but the only ruleset I can think of that might fit is some sort of unholy combination of DnD 5E and Dark Heresy. Got any other suggestions for what might work?

You know... Dragon Ball Super keeps trying to hit home that the god of destruction Berus isn't good or evil and that he is absolutely necessary.

From what I saw of him in the first movie he didn't seem that evil, just operating on a blue/orange morality or something similar to it. At the very minimum he's less evil than Frieza or Babidi, and arguably less than Saiyan Saga Vegeta as well.

Then hypothetically they can be anime.

Because in 'Murica that manager might have a gun that he might decide to maybe shoot at the poor officer with and I FEARED FOR MY LIFE GOD DAMNIT.

Something like that, would be my guess.

((I'd do a map update but everyone seems to confuse those for turn overs.))

P8, visit crypt

You approach the crypt and find its front door shut, seemingly heavily barricaded from the inside. You bang on it a bit, and hear a young voice from inside yelling out "Who's there? Identify yourself!"
They sound somewhat scared. What do you do?

As long as the fan service isn't absurd, ridiculous, and distracting by getting WAY focused on over the actual plot (like DxD) I don't really care too much. I've read Fate's visual novel so I'm not really interested in that anime, and I've also seen SaO, though not its newest season (which is supposedly not that good?)

@NQT: Have you seen Fate/Zero? I think it's pretty good at those things.

@Others: Please stop talking about romancing monsters, robots and siblings

If Josh says so, sure.

Can anyone think of any good romance/action hybrids?

We're talking specifically about where the feelings are reciprocated, though. If someone's being coerced or forced or whatever then duh, of course it's wrong, but that kind of thing is by no means exclusive to sibling love.

Doesn't mean there aren't a boatload of moral and ethical issues that tend to crop up around it, though, especially in the circles where it's a fetish.

Like? What issues?
