It will get ripped apart by the police for infringing on their turf.
Also, something like that is just as open to abuse as the current police system. Almost.
And if someone actually moral runs it...?

Although funding would be a problem. Some kind of neighbourhood watch would probably be more effective.

Still won't work. Either the moral person will slowly be corrupted or eventually replaced by someone else who *will* be corrupted.

A neighbourhood watch would definitely better idea, though there are still issues with that. They're less likely to blow the head off of someone for reaching into their pocket because they'll know he has asthma and is getting his pump since they actually know the area they're protecting.
Still rife with potential for abuse, though. The concept for the Police appears to actually be quite sound, but the issue is it seems to have devolved into a sort of 'us vs. them' mentality rather than 'protect and serve'.

Oh god, I think I must have pissed some deity or other off REALLY badly because I just woke up with an absolutely killer headache + stomach ache combo.
That, or, y'know... Just dehydrated.

In regards to the concept of tearing apart one's beliefs, I can't understand how people can feel like that and then try to stop it and maintain there beliefs. Then again, I'm the kind of person who's generally happy to, unless they're attacking me personally, have what I 'believe' (though that's a loose term) tested by other people. Since, I can just... Change my beliefs if they're wrong. I don't get why something like that is so unthinkable to so many people, but I digress quite badly.

All who can answer, though mostly pertaining to Christian or Christian-type religions
Do you believe Satan is the Lord of Hell/Ruler or an entity that is there for punishment, just like the humans who are supposed to be sent there? (I think I remember reading somewhere that Satan and the demons are in just as much torment and hate hell just as much as any human sent there, or something to that effect.)
Who betrayed Jesus and why?
What is your vision of heaven?
What's the deal with Original Sin?

Argh, ninjas. Had to get up to stem a bloody torrent coming from my nose, the blood god has punished me :P

You didn't collect enough skulls for the skull throne.

What is your own belief?

That's complicated. The recent discussion and PM I sent you earlier should give you some idea. With the caveat that my beliefs are not set in stone, nor are they entirely definite. I don't have the benefit of a single dogmatic discipline to throw my faith into requiring that I ignore all thought to the contrary. So I read, and I think. Some things seem more reasonable to me and resonate more well with me than others. You ask me what I believe, but I hesitate to say I believe anything. Some possibilities seem more likely than others, but I recognize that by virtue of the nature of my existence, many things are not knowable with certainty. I cannot know with certainty that I'm not a brain in a jar, or on a holodeck, or simply having a long and vivid hallucination that I perceive as my life. How can I possibly know with certainty things I don't even see? Some ask why others believe what the bible says is true, but I ask why they believe that they're definitely holding a bible in the first place.

Fortunately I don't consider myself accountable to an angry vengeful power who will throw a hissy fit and punish me if I guess wrong. So I have the luxury of uncertainty.

If you have specific questions, I will attempt to answer them.

Anything more specific I will ask by PM as I fear the length of the answer may break this thread otherwise. Thank you for a very intricate response.
I think my line of thought is, personally, somewhat similar though in whatever PMs we exchange we will probably find some... Differences. Or maybe we won't. Who knows? Not I.

All

How many of you believe in Creationism (or similar concept) that is to say, All That Is was made by the hand of an intelligent creator and things such as evolution did not occur? (There are of course other interpretations that you may specify in your response if you so wish).

And no, I'm not using mods.

Well, there's your problem.

Unless you don't count the unofficial patch and the like as mods.

The angel asking her for permission WAS sort of a formality. God knew she would accept. That's why she was chosen. Because she was able to bear the responsibility and could handle being the mother of the Messiah. You can argue that this still violates free will, but that devolves into the whole determinism versus free will thing which is completely and utterly meaningless for all intents and porpoises.

That doesn't really violate free will, more so renders it as a mere illusion. It wouldn't be a violation of free will because free will never existed to begin with, so to speak.

@LordBucket
Could you please explain what religion (or non-religion) it is that you prescribe to?

There was a pair of magical boots called "boots of blinding speed" which increased your speed but almost completely blinded you. There was a guy who fell from the sky in the wilderness near Seyda Neen (I think it was a levitate spell experiment gone bad) and he had a good magic longsword for starters, and it was the sole reason why I always took long blades as one of my major skills. I always held onto that sword for a long time. I remember walking and hearing this scream from the sky, and when I looked up, I was so startled to see that guy.

Wasn't a levitation experiment, it was a jumping one. On his corpse are three Scrolls of Icarian Flight that fortify your Acrobatics by 1000 points for 7 seconds.

Literally:

Spoiler: Loving Defined (click to show/hide)

All-loving would mean either feeling or showing love/care for All That Exists.

Commonly Accepted Meaning: (In regards to God's all-lovingness at least (I think))
Greatly loves/cares for all of humanity. Wishes to forgive everything. Reason behind sending Its son to atone for our sins.

Personal Interpretation:
To truly be all-loving is beyond human comprehension. We can try to understand it through definitions but it is something we can never truly know. It is beyond us. We cannot possibly imagine it.

I see, that makes significantly more sense given God's actions. By fanfic, though, do you mean the New Testament? (Or whatever the recent versions of the Bible are called.)

Christians: Why do you continue to maintain that God is all-loving, all-forgiving (unless you don't do that, in which case this question is invalid). when It knowingly condemned an uncountable number of people to unthinkable eternal torment at the dawn of creation? Before that, even.
Now, I'm not saying that people like Hitler should go to heaven, but... Well, if God is actually all-loving and all-forgiving then that is where he should be.

Hi!

2. Questions must be exactly that: a question.  You may not make value judgements in your questions, nor are you allowed to state your own belief when asking questions.  You may ask questions about things you have heard about a person's religion, but they must be framed as things you have heard and not as facts.

This isn't really the place to finally convince all of Christianity that their beliefs are bunkum- they've probably spent a lot more time considering their faith than you have, and you're not going to cause them to seriously doubt their faith by asking such loaded questions.

I have absolutely no belief I'm going to convince anyone of anything. Better people than me have tried and failed to convince people on otherwise on topics they have far less personal investment in. However, I'll edit everything but the question out of the post, if it's incredibly important.

Oh, and to preemptively respond in case you think the question still isn't proper: The reason I'm asking it that way rather than simply 'Why do you believe God is all-loving?' is because a question like that will likely be met by an answer such as 'Because the bible/God says so'. (Not saying the people here would answer like that, but I'd prefer to be sure)
By asking it the way I am, the answer I'm looking for is if there is anything I've missed that lets us know that God is all-loving and all-forgiving despite actions in the bible that suggest otherwise.

@Rolan
More on the free will stuff, the thing I find interesting about it is that 'God' is essentially saying 'You are all free to choose as you please, though if you do something I don't want you to do your soul will be eternally tortured in the most horrific ways possible due to a mistake I/your ancestors made a long time ago. Happy choosing.'
Actually, for the most part the whole thing with free will (unless I missed something is that) 'Free will is a thing because God says so.'

Christians: Why do you believe that God is all-loving, all-forgiving when It has actions in the bible (though I'll admit I'm missing the full picture) that could easily be interpreted otherwise?

You're doing fine. Sometimes I feel like you're being a bit easy on us, but that's understandable because it's early on in the game and otherwise I'm enjoying myself.

What do you mean by that thing with the d100s and d20s though?

Also, what the hell was with that Duskull? It 1HKO my Riolu. >_>
(Admittedly he's a bit weak defensively.)

Hold up Pokeball

"I'll name you... Abaddon."

Check Kuunokuu's injuries, tending to them where possible, then return him to his Pokeball to rest.

"Alright then. Nirvana, let's head back to the forest entrance. We have what we came here for.

Heads back to forest entrance/camp
