”Evil never dies. Darkness never retreats. In the cracks and the crevices of our society there are monsters undreamed of by the rank and file of humanity. I’ve been there. I’ve seen them. They exist in the spaces between things, in the folds of existence where we can’t find them. Sometimes they cross over, sometimes they manifest, and all Hell breaks loose. Only this is not Hell, nor Heaven. This is like nothing anyone has ever understood.”

In the sixteen years since the fall of Delta Green, the art of moving people around quietly has become something of a science. There’s a 58 year old clerk at the FBI with access to the machine that prints out ID cards. A colonel whose grandpappy was in the P4 division, and can requisition the movement of people at a moment’s notice. DG may be gone, but the work it did in the American government bureaucracy remains.
Maybe someone notices that something’s amiss, but when they look into the fellow with the curiously high security clearance, they find out that they never existed at all. The darkness is pushed back another day, and nobody is the wiser.
Yesterday, five people from five different places received five plane tickets, five blank CDC IDs, and five copies of a letter coated in gasoline. Five letters with sets of instructions: to come to Dearthwater, New Jersey. To come to the Clearwater Public Library, in the basement. To burn the letter after reading it.
Five letters. Fifteen green dots arranged into five triangles, one for each letter. Five agents.
One mission. One operation.
Infinite Eldritch horrors.

Mind explaining what "once per op" means?
You know. Once per operation. As in, once per mission.
What this guy said.

« on: March 12, 2018, 07:29:38 pm »Jackson Silvers:
Glass, I need you to tone down some of the new stuff I now see in your character sheet before I come up with some of these for you. It's fine that your character has an alien prosthesis and can make weird things that break physics, but being able to warp the fabric of reality at will ain't gonna fly.
Jackson doesn't warp reality at will. He mostly just warps it at random, doesn't actually understand the things he makes, and may be prone to having things blow up in his face. I'm going for a very Genius: The Transgression-type character (warning, TVtropes).
Anyway, could you maybe tell me the specific lines that you don't like?
EDIT: I think "Smite Down Thine Enemy" is probably my best option for a magic.
EDIT2: But yeah, what I was trying to say is that Jackson doesn't make his stuff with any purpose in mind; probably only about a half of the things he's made work, about half of those have any particularly useful function, and of all of those, not one was made with the purpose of getting an item with that specific function. And like the Wonders of G:tT, almost all of them have their own eccentricities that can and likely will cause problems.
Jackson doesn't do this stuff on purpose. He just likes to make stuff. There's a reason that he's a subject of study, and that he's still allowed to interact with the normal people at all.
Oh, I see. I had interpreted it as being a deliberate, controlled manipulation of reality. I understand what you were trying to get at.
Gonna put in your stuff, just give me a sec.

Josephi peers over at the book, with a slightly bemused expression on his face.

Mmkay. As I finish up some prep for the IC thread (which will be up at the very latest by tomorrow afternoon, but more likely by the end of today), it's time for that character-specific stuff I mentioned earlier.
So first, perks:
Neil Orlund:
[Eldritch Mathematician]: Doesn't experience sanity loss from witnessing impossible/alien geometries.
[Schizophrenic]: Upon losing 4 or more sanity in one day, will begin hearing / seeing things that aren't actually there. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on the circumstances.
Jackson Silvers:
[Tinker]: Once per op, can attempt to create a device which has the ability to warp reality in a minute area. The device must be assembled from available parts, and all side effects are hidden until it's first use.
[Witness]: Immune to sanity loss from seeing lesser Mythos beings (Deep Ones, Ghouls, Rat-Things, etc.)
Will Ivers:
[Psychiatrist]: Can restore 1d6 points of sanity to another character once per day. This will take a few hours, and must be done in a safe location.
[Paramedic]: Immune to sanity loss from seeing a mutilated corpse or other gross injury.
Elsie West:
[Ex-Cultist]: Loses 25% less sanity (rounded up) when casting spells, to a minimum of 1.
[Magus]: All spells cost 1 less power to cast, to a minimum of 1.
James Jefferson Lewis:
[Military]: Deals an extra 1d3 damage on all attacks.
[Translator]: Can roll EDU to attempt to understand unfamiliar languages. That is, languages that are not English, Korean, Hindi, or Urdu.
Second, spells. Stirk, you start out knowing all the spells in one of the following grimoires. Glass and Maximum Spin, you each start out knowing a single spell costing 5 power or less (or with variable cost) from one of said grimoires.
EDIT: Added a 4th Grimoire

”Здравствуйте! Вы пробовали эти глазные яблоки? Они абсолютно изысканные, как сладкие конфеты.”
Always one to make the most of an unpleasant situation, Josephi squeezes one of the eyeballs over his pizza to let the intraocular fluid act as a cheese substitute. He continues happily munching on the veritable smorgasbord of foods available.

Josephi, partially annoyed but mostly amused, saunters over to the food table and starts picking through it, occasionally grunting as he picks up food and puts it on a plate.

Sorry for the delay guys. Real life things, you know?
I've posted the mechanics and some stuff to help determine stats and such. Y'all can add that stuff to your character sheets. After all that's done, I'll give everybody some special character-related stuff and start an IC thread.
Shoot me a message in the discord if you have any questions.
