DF Gameplay Questions / Re: So I killed them.

I believ when he dropped the rock on them, it should have squished all of those items, completely destroying them, so I wouldn't think that was the cause.

The finest dwarven alchohol can be set alight by just swearing loudly next to it.

Then how come my dining room dosen't look like a warzone? what with the sieges, the snatchers that got lucky, and the bronze colossus, I would expect to see a lot more exploding booze around.

How can a stockpile of booze going up in a massive fireball POSSIBLY be disappointing?

Nope, he's doomed. If you have a moat/chasm or other high place, he will try to throw himself off of it.

AFAIK, Building floors with rough stone makes them smoothed, while building them out of blocks makes them count as engraved.

If a floor is constructed, it is already treated as a smoothed floor, so you don't need to smooth them.

Memorize the name of your fortress, and ask around town in adventure mode. Eventually, someone will tell you about it.

So wait...

My quintuple-legendary engraver/miner/etc. could go completely berko because some random dwarf pukes on one of his masterpiece engravings at my fort entrance?

DF Gameplay Questions / Magmawheels?
« on: December 20, 2007, 12:56:00 am »
I was just wondering, can waterwheels be constructed out of metal? If so, then can they be powered by magma?

I'm pretty sure they're related. In my current fort, I have had about ten foxes up for adoption for quite a while now, and not one of them has been taken. On further investigation, none of my dwarves like foxes for their cunning.

Maybe. I'll try one more time.

Edit: Okay, map seed 8675309 (yes, I had to do it) has a fair amount of mountains.

Odd, I've had several worlds with a surprising lack of mountains. Related?

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Trapped clerk (I want him dead!)
« on: December 10, 2007, 11:01:00 pm »
Since you have him trapped, you could just wait. When he goes nuts, your soldiers can kill him. Although I'm not quite sure if dwarves left over when you reclaim a fortress can go insane, in which case you can just let him starve/die of thirst. short of that, I'm not sure.
