Well I mean the whole point is that they're the same. Taking away one is the same as giving the other and both could be used as valuable resources in their raw form. But if we choose Death then we can instill a love and tolerance perspective to the spheres early on allowing for late game shenanigans.
Do you mean that you're choosing death because it's hated? Couldn't we just pick up equality, balance, or acceptance (as spheres) later on?

"Nah, I'm good. I'm going to check out the missions; do any of you chaps want to come with me?"

Head to the town hall and look at the job board.

> Looks like there'll need to be a bit of backtracking to rescue the bigbot, drain blood from all those corpses since we're running out, and then raise them as zombes to replace the stick golems. Probably just you and Galar'nt , being the fastest fliers. Also grab the elites minigun to put on one of the turrets while at it.

+1 On an unrelated note I would like to call our entire group the Acid. Play up the boogymaness.
Eh, it might get confusing when we're dealing with actual acid.

Yeah, but can't we do that with life (giving life to corpses, returning people to life)?

Name: The Librarian
Just what are you? (May induce a Malus): Half-Dragon, Half-Elven, Male, Adventurer in Search of Knowledge
Primary Class: Book Mage (Learns Spells From Books Easier)
Who is a cool character from media? (provide source): I was tempted to make the Librarian from Discworld, but I haven't read enough of the series yet.
Amusing Additional Malus? (Yes or No): If it gives me more stats: Incredibly Curious
Describe your surroundings (May induce a Malus): The Librarian, in his thirst for knowledge, journeyed to the Infinite Library to explore and become wiser/smarter. The Infinite Library is, well, an infinitely large library, with books that range from spell tomes, to skill books, to eldritch tomes that give maluses when read; even books that transport the reader to other worlds (a la Myst)! He is standing just inside the entrance.
Some Starting Gear: Standard Adventurer Gear, Scribing Tools and Materials

Well do they need to know we're a death cult? also move this to the discussion thread.
Well, they're eventually going to find out (via immigration, emigration, spies, the personality of our worshipers,  or other means), and when they do we're going to take a massive hit to our PR, and reinforce the public's (racist) beliefs of that kobolds are evil, likely causing our worship to be outlawed and nations (and their respective gods) to become hostile, or even declare war on us. Growing the crops of other nations and being able to give kings heirs of a desired gender with life magic, however, are great bargaining chips and are wonderful for our image as a kind, peaceful god.

Froggy Ninja, you seem rather intent on Life/Death. I'm curious about what you'd want our middle and end games to look like as Life/Death, and why that's so better than going pure Life plus some other sphere (for argument's sake, let's say Nature for the earth magic boost).
I'm not trying to oppose your viewpoint here, but doesn't the nature sphere oppose the magic sphere, require the tribe to respect nature, and hinder industrialization? Granted, earth magic can become ludicrously powerful, but the costs seem to be too steep (and oppose a lot of the cool things you can do with earth magic).

"Yes. What should we do next?"

Learn Rage (at the next safe, available opportunity). Turn to Talmyr.

"Witchcraft, eh? Would you mind sharing notes with me?"

3699
Well we could also store and weaponize the pure death we harvest.
Yeah, but life can be just as lethal and can grow our crops. Plus, death is generally associated with evil, and will probably give us a penalty in diplomacy (would you ally with a death cult (outside of war)?).

Yell once per minute. Retract my limbs into my robe to conserve heat (leave my head out, though).

I vote for either soul or dream weaving for the magical affinity that we give to our first mage.

I vote for diplomacy or charisma for our next sphere. Trading with the other races will greatly accelerate our technological advancement and deter them from killing us.

Theoretically, we could give intelligence to a corpse and keep it alive with life magic, or give people massive tumors, so I am against (-1) picking up death as a sphere.

"HELP! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?"

I retrieved the eyes, right?

Stay put. The rest of the group will probably backtrack to find me.

Could I eventually create a spell that gives were-creatures control over their transformations (and remain in control when transformed)? How much exp would it cost to create? What would be required to cast it?

Maybe the walls are opaque and are not letting any light in?

Since I've come to my max GMing limit at this point, I have a bunch of ideas and no outlet... well...

Spoiler: Bio-Spikes (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: The Hunted (click to show/hide)

So...
I would participate in Bio-Spikes. How much control do the kidnappers have over you (at each level)? Can you create your own spikes that don't give the kidnappers control over you if you find out how to make them? Could you modify your spikes to reduce/eliminate the control the kidnappers have over you? I would suppose there would still be a (slightly higher) limit on spikes that don't give the kidnappers control (there's only so much the human body can take), for balance purposes.
