Every nation has 2 offices: diplomat and general...

Diplomat:
>Handles economic decisions
>Handles foreign policy

General:
>Moves troops
>Captures points of interest

There are

4 NATIONS

Win Requirements:
All nations must meet a certain level of prosperity, depending on size and population.
All world crisis must be resolved.

1) Power Balance: A diplomat may make trades with oil, but it is protected by the general, whom may deny such trades to complete. A general may make expenses on behalf of the military, but the diplomat may deny these expenses.
2) Approval: For this game, assume your people, while primarily trusting your actions, err on the side of peace loving. If your approval gets too low, both Diplomat and General will be impeached.

More will be revealed as the game progresses. What I say goes!





Q. For commitment, it's not more than once a day, is it?
A. Yeah it shouldn't be more than that. Unless all players are getting everything done, I suppose we might then. Not as a requirement.

Q. Can we get an IC thread?
A. This is a strategy game where the path to victory is decided by consistent actions via budgeting, bargaining, capturing, and so forth, roleplaying has no consequence, from my perspective atleast, so you may be "in character" if you want to call it that while playing, on the flip side there is no real time to be "out" of character beyond the game set up.

Creature Cards

Red: Kill adjacent creature.
Yellow: Spawn 1 offspring on adjacent hex.
Blue: Revive one of your creatures killed since your last turn, in the same or adjacent hex.
Green: Move 1 of your creatures 1 space. Must be unoccupied.

Post "Draw" then edit your post with your action. If someone posted before you, allow them to complete their turn before finalizing yours.

1. Choose anywhere unoccupied to start. You have 1 free creature.

Imagine a game where you are challenged to adept, where what you do may not only impact your experience, but those to follow in your place, and those beyond your current perception.

Explore a wide selection of worlds each created by someone different. Encounter puzzles and challenges that require you to strategize, backtrack, cooperate, and compete. Discover hidden plots and story arcs you can influence. This is an organic ongoing simulation and you redefine your role within it all in every action you take. You are not alone. Many will cross paths with you. No one's journey will be the same.

1. You can only be in one place at a time.
• Look at the Astranomicon below, check out the different realities. Pick where to start!
• To easily travel between bubbles(without starting over), pick one that can already go to others.

2. Gods may mess with you. I did warn you.
• Read about Freeplay, Encounter, and Discovery general reality types and decide which kind you'd like to play!

3. You can start over at any time, losing everything and able to pick a new place to start.
• If it is possible to die or otherwise "lose" in a reality, a god may have a penalty less severe than starting over.

4. Note where you are each post.
• It's easy! @1 = At bubble one! Some currencies will require you to keep track yourself.
• (Optional) Post the banner of a place you are going to for the first time. (See my next post for an example)

• encounter: you read about the setting, then do what you want but the god can make you have a surprise encounter with someone or something.

• discovery: you read about the starting area, then choose what to do there. The god tells you what happens, and you make your next choice after that.

The goal is to attract players to your reality and make connections with others. As the "god" of your reality, you cannot go there as a player.

You are welcome to have your own currencies, and mechanics and so forth and make agreements with others to share or trade such things and have different levels of compatibilities. Ideally things will be kept just simple enough so that the theme of connected dimensions will be tangible and evident.



GODLY ENDEAVOURS

Your status and that of your reality will increase as you do these things. These add permanent tickets to the weekly raffle! -Held Fri, Sat, or Sun by a volunteer raffle host.

Requirements:
• Your reality has a clearly visible number
• Info on what a player does when they arrive
• This checklist(or smaller version provided below)
• You desire to be an Elder God

[✓] Draw a 100 pixel tall, 350 pixel wide landscape of your reality.
[✓] Make at least one consensual reality connection.
[✓] Attract at least 1 player to visit.
[✓] Your reality has a badge for players to obtain. Draw your badge, no larger than 40 x 40 pixels.
[✓] Be a member of a network of, including you 3 or more realities(even if you only have 1 connection)
[✓] Your reality is 14 days old.
[✓] You hosted a raffle or obtained 2 badges from different realities.
Bonus: Since raffle #X...
[✓] You had a visitor.
[✓] You interacted with your visitor as a god/dm.
[✓] Since no longer being an elder god you've either asked to host a raffle or obtained a new badge.

GLOSSARY
Services
Elder God: There are 3, selected by raffle, the longest serving replaced each time. When a suggestion for the game is made, there is a 3 day period in which any Elder may deny them, or allow it to pass automatically, or for 2 Elders to support the change to happen immediately. Can offer a conditional denial, such that certain changes must be met before the deadline to pass.

Arbitor: Any change related to how the Elder Gods work must first be approved by the Arbitor, meaning endeavours, the raffle, and suggestion format are totally under Arbitor jurisdiction, however things not immediately related to those arnt. Also has creative and secretarial control over OPs, and poll. Can be replaced by majority vote for new candidate.

Raffle Volunteer: Takes all valid raffle tickets and picks winner for eldership and subsidiary prizes. Results should be random, with tools such as random.org or dice. This volunteer forfeits the ability to enter themselves.
Compensation: 1 Bronze Token
Raffle Prizes: #1 Eldership, #2 1 Bronze Token

Misc.
Badges: A realities badge is an obtainable talisman for completing a challenge of some kind. Your reality may only have 1 official one, subsidary "for fun" ones are okay.

Inside Rules: No fighting or drama
Entering Rules: none
Leaving Rules:
1. "Navigation" An hour must pass from the time you arived, before you may travel to another connection.
2. "Shortcuts" If you have the Dew Badge, you may come and go freely and ignore the navigation rule.

Starting Area: You will begin on a dirt road in a grassy area. Behind you are trials to the other connected realm, and before you is a path up to the lip of valley below.

Description: You have come to the furtile valley of farms and spring weather. This realm is freeplay, you may do what you want within the setting, and do not not need or have any reason to wait for god confirmation, unless you are trading with the hermit.

Farming: If you roleplayed farming more than an hour ago, you can choose to receive 1 Bronze Token. You keep track of these tokens yourself. You may do this again to receive more. You do not need permission to start a farm, and may even pretend you already had one here.

Hermit: Living in a hillside dugout is a quiet vagabond, a master painter who will consider doing a piece for you if you make a generous enough offer. If you are rejected you can try again tomorrow. You may but do not need to wait for a reply, and may leave after your request. On the door is a sign that reads, "show me you love the land".

I've arrived in Sandbox.  A snug valley surrounded on all sides by cliffs. I hear I am to watch for natives which can be dangerous. Soon I will arrive in the frontier town of Chattel. There are plans to add a rail, and I am excited to be a part of this up and coming settlement.

Tragic news. I've found the frontier town of Chattel, with no one in it. It has been entirely abandoned. I can only suspect hostile relations with the natives. I will set up in the store and plan my next endeavor, I can only hope new settlers will arrive, or survivors that can help explain what became of this once promising settlement. Despite this turn for the worse, I am somehow optimistic I am right where I need to be.

Hello!

I am pleased to share a special game from my past, and as we play, perhaps gain greater insight on it's future. I may take the role of external authority figure or fellow player which may very session to session based on the needs of the current interpretation. You will be playing a game called Tribe, you will be assigned likely a random role in this tribe, which will give you different options how to contribute to your own and your tribe members' survival.

Tribe vb12.1

4+ Players

1. GOAL
Survive through winter with atleast 1 male and 1 female tribe member, the elder or unmatured adept do not count for this requirement.

2. PHASES
DAILY
a. MORNING
Decide what you will do for the day(hunt, gather, role ability, stay). You are rested and heal wounds a little. You may trade. All players will learn if any particular animals were spotted nearby, or any special weather effects.
b. DAY
Your activity's success is calculated. You may trade if at home. You may steal unattended items, PM me to do so. Animals may steal items if few or no players are attending items. The chance and amount determined by players still at home(and lowered by it).
c. NIGHT
All players return home. Eat or go hungry. You may trade. Food not eaten this phase ages or spoils.
SEASONAL
Each season is 10 turns.
a. GREEN
Easiest, many easy animals to hunt, predator human attacks rare. Easy to gather fruit.
b. YELLOW
More difficult in every way.
c. WHITE
More difficult in every way.

3. ROLES
All roles have 4hp, every wound reduces your rolls by 1; sleep or seek a healer to be healed. All roles have a separate 4hp hunger bar, skipping a meal 4 times is death. If either bar depletes you die and are removed from the session. You will have a unique carry limit, however you can have unlimited items at home, which can be stolen by animals or other players if you are away. Someone can watch your stuff, but you must give it to them temporarily, they do not have to give it back. Calculations based on a d6 emulation.
a. ELDER
You can carry 1 items away from home. Players can visit with you to gain one knowledge token, which will add one to their next role; however only one tribe member may visit with you at a time, do this instead of trading.
b. HEALER
You can carry 3 items away from home. Can use a fruit to heal a player that visits them, do this instead of trading.
c. ADEPT
You can carry 2. You may assist anyone using their ability. Do this 10 times to become that role; can learn multiple roles at the same time, but will only become the one that reaches 10 first. The more tokens you have in a class the more likely you are to improve their role, rather than decrease it.
d. HUNTER
You can carry 6. You get a +3 to your hunt roles.
e. GATHERER
You can carry 5. You get a +3 to gather roles.
f. COOK
You can carry 4. You can turn meat and fruit into their dried versions, which do not spoil; choose either meat or fruit, than how many; use this ability instead of day trading.

Roll To Dodge / Question about these RtD games...

So a lot seem to have a way to improve your roll.

Yet they all/just about all have a penalty for rolling the highest possible outcome.

How does the bonus factor in to this(is there a common resolution or does it vary greatly game to game?)?

If someone is a medic and gets +2 to medical rolls, and they roll a 4, does it become a 6 if that would be a "worse" outcome, or does it stop at a 5?

There are two phases, day and night, each is 24 hours, a whole day is 48 hours.

After 24 hours of night have passed, Squeegy will open the gate, signifying a new day.
After 24 hours of day have passed, Pencil_Art will close the gate, signifying a new night.
They will also give a report of any inccidents, events, or recent or ongoing happenings. Find the most recent report to choose your action for the current phase.

During the day,
A) Go adventuring. Post the coordinates of the tile you'd like to check out. The earlier you go in the day, the more loot you can carry back. (TRAVELING & CRAFTING)
B) Visit the bazaar. Spend your earning within the kingdom. No shopping if you left to go adventuring.
C) If you have and tonight will be using the PROTECTOR ability, or will be hiring the services of an NPC with it, PM these details to PENCIL_ART, so it is clear whom will give and receive protection. These will only be valid if received in the day phase, and will apply to protection that night.

During the night,
A) You could choose where to go adventuring tomorrow. You will get the benefit of leaving as soon as the gate is open.
B) The pub is open. Come, stay awhile. You can buy drinks with various effects.

Post a sentence about your life in the kingdom(or adventures outside of it)
Draw yourself or someone else's character.
Tell a poem.
Otherwise entertain the patrons. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place handed out by the Pub Owner, along with possible bonus prizes. Donate items to this contest for free drinks and the Prosperity God's blessing. Occassionally the Pub Owner will announce a special theme for the contest, usually accompanied by larger prizes.
C) At night, you can perform secret actions. You will need the Thief Guild's help, even if you are not a member if you want your acts to remain secret: you need their persission to store your loot, and to use thier smoke bombs or poison. If you hold onto the loot or use your own consumables, then the guards can trace your actions back to you, it's up to you. PM your secret action(currently only thief abilities or poisoning is available) to PERADON before 12AM GMT! Make sure you are on good terms and confirm you are permitted to use their consumables, which you will want to pay for with favors. The Thieves Guild or the talisman bearer whom observed your secret action is in no way obligated to keep what you did a secret, unless you buy the secret on the shadow market(GOODS & SERVICES).
