Life Advice / Re: Installing Starcraft II Legacy of the Void.

I have not called customer support but I'd like to. I've never done that before with blizzard. I bet they have something you can type in. Maybe an email or some sort of online box you can use to type in things.

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the original game (Wings of Liberty) and the expansion (Heart of the Swarm). Still says bad things and that my installation is damaged. Crap. I have physical copies of all three games including the boxes and discs. No luck, but it worked before I bought Legacy of the Void.

I'm not even sure where to go for help.

Not sure I did this right, because.... :(

Overall, I uninstalled battle.net and reinstalled it but it doesn't seem to be doing much. Crap. The game itself still won't start and says its damanged. Scanning won't fix it. This is a new problem as of today....

I can't have somehow screwed this up forever can I? There's gotta be a way to uninstall this thing at worst and reinstall from the disks?

Welp, I did the scan thing under options (thanks for letting me know about that). It said no repair was necessary.

It still won't run the game, says it's damaged and asks if I want Battle.net desktop application to repair the problem....

It then does nothing and won't open the game....

Scanning gratefully. Fingers crossed. Thank you. Here's hoping.

It asked if starcraft could make changes and I said yes, of course.

It says in the installation is damaged. I don't know if that helps.

I do hope it's cool with my games being saved in my documents.

Hoping I don't have to do full reinstall, because I know some of my arcade game progress is going to be wiped if I do.

SCII itself won't run, but I see B net running.... despite that little gray box....

! "Your StarCraft II installation is damaged.

Would you like to run Battle.net Desktop Application to repair the Problem

Repair, Close

Choose Repair.... Nothing.

I do have all copies of SCII on hard disk, Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void (that I just got). Here's hoping something can help, and thank you for your tips. I appreciate it.

P.S. The website download you sent doesn't seem to be doing anything different, oddly enough. (Not your fault, but frustrating of course). It just gives the same "Starting Battle.net" gray box.... Loading bar that never loads.

P.P.S. Would uninstalling the whole thing and reinstalling work if I had to, and if so, would this kill all my progress?

I will attempt to try and get it to work by doing some kind of update (assuming the game itself will start). It said something about damage and running a program to fix it.

Bought a physical disk today for SCII LotV.

It won't work. All it does it open a little download bar that refuses to move. It says Starting Battle.net.... It then does nothing, except it seems to have damaged my SCII Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm Expansions so those aren't playable either....

I can't play my new game expansion. It looks like it messed up with old ones, and I'm out $42.99.

Ideas, please?

Thank you.

Started job today.

It's technically temp contract but renewable annually (through the whole 3rd party company I guess). Possibility to be hired into federal government, but I don't know. Way too soon to tell.

Even though there wasn't a computer for me to use, or an account for access, it was nice to be there. Overall, I'm just glad to have something.

One of the weird things that seems to be getting me is the weird conversion rates. Seems farms produce food in years but people eat it in a matter of food / day. Same deal with most other resources but it really matters when the consequences are living or not.

You know, I was thinking about drawing some paper and pencil maps. I think it's possible they could be fairly decent at some things maybe. T and I talked over stuff and I think they like that better, because T is a little old school. I just don't know enough about the computerized art programs to make something really awesome and I'm afraid people are going to look at it and say it looks dumb or whatever.

Could we maybe scan the stuff and host the images on some site that doesn't claim they own your work once you post it there?

Who knows, maybe it'd be seen as retro or something. After all, this is a DF forum we're talking on here.

Wow. This is actually moving pretty fast. I'm surprised people seem ready to jump right into it like this and help out even. Not sure I'm ready for that just yet. That's kinda why it was just an interest check to see if I should put in the work and stuff.

T. has been really helpful here and in the other thread. Holy crap.

I still wanna do this but I might need some time to put things all together. I really hope I didn't get people's hopes up too fast.

Welp, that's two more than I thought I'd get. Let's keep going with this and see where it goes. Anyone else?

We'll need an area, perhaps multiple ones serving as relatively safe spots (towns, etc).
We'll need a couple of underground complexes
We'll need some aboveground ones too possibly.

Individually we'll need a place to get the supplies, weapons, armor, rations, etc we need. Hum.

Outlining it?

Who's interested in an RPG? Probably something with limited geography that may or may not last but a serious tone (don't just goof off)?
Probably something in a classic fantasy setting with some dungeon crawling and perhaps political intrigue in the story line, probably combat heavy.

If possible, I'd like a couple of the more experienced gamers to be involved. T. said they might help out a bit behind the scenes, or at least they'd give me input if I asked.

Focus on individual and small group combat, some skill use, some item use, etc.

Is anyone interested in anything like this or should I just sorta find something else?

I guess what I'd be looking for is mostly players (probably play by post and Suggestion game?) and perhaps advisors (more experienced gamers).
