For the record, twisting and pulling out things does cause both bleeding and pain. The most obvious example of this is when you survive a bow shot and yank the thing out of your face.

First thing I did when temperature was first implemented was kill a zombie and put the corpse in a fire. I waited till it caught on fire then preceded to beat people to death with a flaming corpse till my hands burned.

Kill enough and they'll stop coming. Figured that out the hard way, was killing all the nobles and the regular immigrants stopped coming.

Damn nobles still show up every spring, though.

I think recovery varies with toughness. Normally broken bones takes a year or so to heal for me, but recently I had a legendary miner break a hand (Ultra Tough, I think) and recover in a season or so.

I've seen a red hand heal, it certainly took longer than a year though. About 5-7 years or so.

Host doesn't alow linking, can't see the pics.

However, I know it does get down to freezing tempatures at night in many desert locations, so I guess a snowstorm isn't totally out of the question.

I've just realized he no longer falls unconscious randomly after going legendary. Maybe it's related to being Unbelievably Tough?

He managed to put it together, but it turned out rather boring. No images, just used 2 glass 1 tin bar. Got my hopes up that it'd be more interesting considering his recent maiming.

And now I have a pretty much worthless blind legendary. He conks out every 10 steps or so.

I've no idea how complicated it is yet, but I just had a dwarf that lost both his eyes in a ratman ambush. Assuming he can stay conscious long enough to make it I'm interested if any images on it will relate to his attack.

I'd keep it regardless, never know if a metalsmith is going to hit a fey mood and want a old fashioned smelter.

I made it to 200 + some nobles once and promptly lowered my pop cap to 80 after that fort. Its probably just bad design on my part but efficiency just seems to grind to a halt at anything higher.

Problem isn't really dwarves dying when sparring, it's getting wounds that never heal. Organ wounds will remain, even if they're just a light gray wound, forever. The dwarf will go about his business unless he's a soldier, in which case he will never spar again.

I usually kit them out in full bronze plate and bronze weapons that are made as my weapon and armor smiths grind their way up. Anyone who suffers a organ wound is switched over to marksdwarf as it won't hinder their progress.

I feel your pain. The elephants have managed to be waiting right on the road for my last 3 waves of immigrants, maiming or killing at least half of each wave.

I don't really mind the killing, its the legions of dwarves doing nothing but lying in bed that's hurting me.

I've seen red limbs heal, just not organs. Takes a good 5-10 years.
