DF Suggestions / Re: Paint

The player's skin could hang in the goblin fortress in the same way.
Those goblins are even more vicious than I thought

some of the guests might be part of a human civilization, and so killing them will upset said civilization.  However, the human caravans are always part of civilizations, and so those are a much better target.  Not that genociding all non-dwarf persons in your fortress isn't always a great idea.

What if they just happen to die? Like, they get into an accident that isn't caused by a direct physical attack from any of your dwarves

DF Suggestions / Consume corpses

Similar to the option from Rimworld where people and animals can eat directly from a dead corpse as opposed to having to butcher it first.

DF Suggestions / "Tarzan"-style feral children?
« on: August 02, 2016, 06:32:50 pm »
As the name suggests, this would be humans, dwarves, elves, or goblins, who were left behind/exiled/had the rest of their civilization or family destroyed as children, and were abandoned in the wilderness. These children learned to survive and fight on their own, and lived in the wilderness, sort of like Tarzan.

It could also be possible for a feral being to be adopted by a pack of animals (wolves, apes, etc.), whom the child would be raised by.

They would generally be reclusive, choosing to stay away rather than fight, but they would be territorial, and if you build your fort on their territory, or if one of your dwarves attacks or gets a little too close, they will fight viciously.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: Stopping the bleeding?
« on: July 14, 2016, 10:27:59 pm »
From what I know bleeding isn't too big of a issue, even severe bleeding, there was times I recovered from mortal wounds, If possible, try sleeping.

I've actually never tried that before, so thank you for the advice, but from what I've seen, I'm not allowed to fast travel (and thus unrealistically heal from all my wounds) if I'm heavy bleeding

Raided a bandit camp, killed the chief

Fast traveled back to a village, was ambushed by a chieftess

In what I like to imagine was some kind of revenge story, the chieftess battled my human outsider, and after I got one stab to the lower body in, she crushed my advenutrer's skull with her silver warhammer.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Stopping the bleeding?

Is there any way my adventurer can bandage wounds, pinch off arteries, etc, any way to stop severe bleeding? Or does a good stab/slash basically spell the end of an adventure?

Does pain inflicted from attacks also increase?

DF Modding / Re: TRASHWORLD [WIP]

So um...
Two wasters just died by a bi-pedal mech, that damn thing is harder to kill then a roc in base game, and its a ambush spawn!? XD
How was I suppose to put out the fire on me though, it breathed fire (Love it, I'm imagining a mech painted to look like a dragon) and I didn't have anything to block it with, then I tried to jump around and the fire just melts all the snow and set the grass on fire, it was impossible to escape the fire that I had on me.

The best strategy I've found for fighting war mechs is to use the antimech lances that wasters and scavvies carry.

Even more importantly, make sure you are covered in water (frequently jump into small lakes/water pools/streams) before and during the battle. It keeps your character from catching fire.

Stay close to the water source during the battle too, in the event that you do end up catching fire.

Can rocs be captured and trained for war?

Tried out the trashworld mod, decided to head to a cave where I thought a beast was.

It was the wrong cave, entire area was full of bandits.

One of them had a greatbow.

I get hit in the chest with a "great arrow" which apparently hits with enough force to send you flying backwards quite a distance

Fall into a ravine

Break ALL the things when I hit the bottom

The arrow tore my adventurer's heart open.

Bled to death in the bottom of a ravine with everything broken and a huge arrow sticking out of my character's heart.

I thought I could take on a giant cave spider alone in the caverns.

I got webbed and then spent several in-game hours being shaken around by my head until I finally died. The venom couldn't even get to my character because none of the bites could pierce through my helmet.

If you manage to win this siege then you should seriously consider giving a colonization of the HFS another go

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: How to awaken a mummy?
« on: June 26, 2016, 12:52:44 pm »
I think I may have done it. There was a second entirely separate tomb two map tiles over, and after breaking down that door and toppling some statues I've awoken the mummy.

Are you sure the mummy is in the coffin you're near to? Is there a slab and a few corpses in the same room?

It's the only coffin in the tomb. And yes, there's also a slab and corpses
