DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Outpost Braverags
« on: December 16, 2007, 01:38:00 am »I was mistaken to set camp on this godforsaken land. It's worse than the legends of Nist Akath. There is no farmable land, I can find no wildlife, and we're running out of puppies to slaughter. We have a population of thirty that is eating us out of house and home. I fear this will end in rack and ruin.
Our farmer was struck by a strange mood when gathering plants. He sits in the original meeting room, doing nothing.
We created a party room and all my dwarves that were not busy immediately started partying. I fear it was not wise.
I am considering abandoning the expidition. If we die, let my warning be to you: Avoid this land like the mountain plague.
DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Outpost Braverags
« on: December 15, 2007, 10:05:00 pm »Anyway, I'd better start from, well, the start. We set up camp in the promising plains and dug. I ordered to build store rooms first, then we unloaded the cart, destroyed it, and dug deep into stone to make our workshops. Those completed, we made a kennel and seven bedrooms. My fellow dwarves made sure mine was furnished best, which is still modest, as we have still just started out. We set up a trading outpost, and dwarves lounged around in our new meeting room. We dug out a dining room and set to work furnishing it. We built more storage, and more workshops. A trading group arrived, the experience I would rather not recall. After that, we got 10 immigrants and we immediately put them to work. Constructed a barracks, made more rooms. Set up traps for our storages, etc.
But we have one major problem, one that may spell death for us no matter what: We cannot find any suitable farming areas. We are in a temperate area and we can collect plants but that can only sustain us for so long and we will have to send collectors out further and further. I admit, I do not so much know what I am doing and as such can only do basic things for my comrades.
We can only hope it ends well.

Idiocy aside, what happened to this? It somehow landed on the last page for absolutely no reason.

Dying during a siege makes the siege disappear. Just a minor bug where it erases all gobbos.
