Curses / Idea: A "sound pack" for LCS
« on: May 16, 2019, 12:06:51 am »
Would a "sound pack" like in Cataclysm: DDA be possible for LCS? (Optional) Sounds for gunfire, unarmed combat, blunt or bladed weapons, people dying, crashing in a car chase, etc would be nice, and there's a variety of sources to get them from. Stock sound effects, videogames, etc. Cataclysm DDA had support for sound packs, and it really enhances the experience if you get a good one.

ASSASSINATION
A suggestion game about murder for hire

What is this?
Welcome to Assassination! This is a suggestion game about assassinating your mark. This will be mostly text based, and the game progresses according to the suggestions you make. Everyone controls the protagonist.

I will try to accommodate your suggestions as best as I can. If a suggestion is denied, reasons will be given. I don't expect to have to deny too many suggestions, however, unless they're impossible to do.

Target #1: Mad Tony

You stand outside a three-story apartment that has seen better days. Above the front doors is a billboard displaying what was once an advertisement for alcohol, now torn to several pieces and covered in graffiti. The walls are not safe, either, and similar graffiti is everywhere on them. A man calling himself by the name of Mad Tony is to be assassinated, and he is one of many men that you will have to eliminate in order to gain your freedom, or die trying.

You anxiously take a look around in the general vicinity of the apartment where Mad Tony resides. How did you go from an average life to becoming a novice hitman? Whatever the reasons were, this is no time to sit back and recollect the past when you've got a job to do. How will you know what your target looks like? Is he aligned with the gangsters that are known to be living in this apartment? Is he aware that someone is out to kill him?

You've been provided with a poorly maintained pocket pistol from the 70's with terrible ergonomics, making it hard to grip. To make things worse, you've only got five rounds and no spare ammunition. Are your creditors in the underworld trying to ensure your failure? Seems that whether you fail or succeed at getting rid of Mad Tony, the outcome will still be favorable for them...

In front of you is the front door. A man wearing gang colors and a bandanna leans on the walls by the entrance, smoking a cigarette. You can see a poorly-concealed pistol tucked in the back of the man's waistband.

To the left is a small body of water filling up a moderately-sized hole in the ground, and the side windows of the apartment. You also see a neighboring building across the street with large pipes on the roof that pass by close enough to the apartment windows on the third floor.

To the left and ahead past the apartment is an alleyway.

To the right is what looks like a power generator for the apartment, and a ladder leading to a grating. The grating seems to allow access to the back of one of the second-floor rooms.

Further to the right is the back of a neighboring building, with a ladder to the roof.

HEALTH: Healthy. You are not injured.

Inventory:
[.22 LR] Crappy pocket pistol (5/5 rounds, poor ergonomics, concealable)

Ammunition:
.22 LR: None!

Curses / [MOD]Liberal Overhaul+Rebalance
« on: July 20, 2018, 07:00:46 pm »
The Liberal Overhaul and Rebalance mod intends to overhaul LCS and rebalance existing elements.

Download it here. Drag and drop into your "art" folder, but make a backup of it first. Check the ModdingChanges.Txt file that comes with the files, as it is a readme and contains the FULL list of changes that would not fit on this forum post. Intended for use with LCS 4.12.41 and higher, not Terra Vitae (sorry). This is still a work in progress.

Primary Features:
CQC Rebalance
In vanilla LCS, assault rifles were the ultimate weapon, and the other guns weren't really worth using much. That has changed.

Weapons are rebalanced around close-quarters combat. Pistols, shotguns, and SMGs have accuracy bonuses while rifles get accuracy penalties to represent how unwieldy they are in close quarters. Carbines get reduced accuracy penalties in comparison to full-size rifles. In addition, all rifles have nerfed critical hit chances.

Non-rifles are significantly more viable than in vanilla LCS. It is also harder to land successive hits on a target with burst weapons, as many weapons have increased successive attack difficulties to simulate recoil.

Melee, Firearms as Clubs, and Molotovs have received armor piercing buffs to slightly offset their uselessness. Firearms as Clubs have also received damage buffs.

Reduced Instant Death
Random damage has been rebalanced to be less insane, reducing the frequent occurrences of getting instantly killed by a .38 or 9mm handgun. Guns do less random damage, but more fixed damage. Single shots are more survivable.

Integrated Changes from Liberal Additions
This mod aims to be a continuation of the Liberal Additions mod. Changes from Liberal Additions will be included.

More Weapons and Ammo
Additional weapon variety for LCS. From Brass Knuckles to M14's to MG42's, there are a wider range of weapons available that will be purchasable in stores or used by Conservatives.

AA-12 Overhaul
AA-12 has been buffed. It uses slug rounds for increased Armor Piercing, and a 20-round drum magazine. Unfortunately, this precludes the sharing of ammo with other shotguns due to how "clips" work in LCS.

MP5 Buff
Mag size increased to 30

Syringe and Flamethrower
Syringe causes bleeding and the Flamethrower is legal until gun laws become Liberal. Why? Because flamethrowers are somehow less regulated than marijuana in the US.

Certain melee weapons do NOT protect against kidnapping anymore:
Torch
Guitar
Spraycan
Cross
Chain
Syringe

More melee weapons can take hostages quietly:
Baseball Bat
Crowbar
Dwarven Hammer
Maul

Firearms that can now fit under a trenchcoat (Size 10)
M4 Carbine

Melee Weapons that can now fit under a trenchcoat (Size 10):
Katana
Sword
Baseball Bat
Axe
Nightstick
Maul

Melee Weapons that can now hit twice:
Crowbar
Katana
Sword
Staff

Melee Weapons that can now hit 3x:
Nightstick
Spraycan

New Weapons
Currently, many weapons reuse vanilla game ammunition. Due to the wide variety of magazine capacities and calibers, adding in all of them individually would take forever and add unnecessary bloat. Unfortunately, this will mean that some weapons have incorrect magazine capacities in the interest of sharing ammunition. This is in part because a 9mm SMG mag and a 9mm Pistol mag are incompatible in LCS, for example. They cannot share ammo.

Submachine Guns
TDI Vector (Uses SMG mag) - 2x Burst
Tommy Gun (Uses SMG mag) - 5x Burst

Liberal Additions
Github (Contains both the old, unsupported-yet-functional version of LA and the new, more sane version of LA. Pick only one. If installing Classic Liberal Additions, rename the folder to "Art".)

Extract the contents of the "Art" folder into your current "Art" folder and overwrite everything. Make sure your version of LCS has slightly expanded XML support, because IIRC the latest "official" releases by Fox don't have Armors.xml/Creatures.xml or something(Can't remember exactly) in the "Art" folder while the Github versions(And the R855 release too) do, as far as I know.

I've been messing around in the "Art" folder for Liberal Crime Squad, tweaking the game to my liking. Decided to release this too and see if you guys might like it.

Classic Liberal Additions is the old version of Liberal Additions with a metric ton of guns you'll likely never use because Assault Rifles are OP as hell and make every other gun obsolete.
Liberal Additions is the sane version of Liberal Additions with less guns and changes you won't find in Classic Liberal Additions, like the AA-12 having a drum magazine and shotgun slugs. It is mostly adapted from the Terra Vitae version of Liberal Additions.

Liberal Additions: Terra Vitae
Liberal Additions is now a mod for a mod. This one is a bit more modest than the original one when it comes to new weapons(There isn't an insane amount of new toys for your Liberals to play with, only the P90/Five SeveN/Grenade), and it also has some changes the original Liberal Additions doesn't have like making the AA-12 use a 20-round drum magazine full of shotgun slugs, or all cars giving varying amounts of juice for stealing them.

Get it on Github

Spoiler: Changes made (click to show/hide)

New Update for Liberal Additions: Terra Vitae
Deathsquad Uniform is now Deathsquad Armor, which has similar stats to SWAT Armor but buffed. No more free M16's in the early game for your Liberals!
Sniper Rifles have been added. As always, Deathsquads and Agents get to use these new toys against you. Other enemies also get them too, such as CCS Bosses, Soldiers, Mafia Hitmen, Agency Assassins, CCS Snipers, etc.
There is a bug that prevents Sniper Ammo from showing up in Pawnshop. It shows up fine in Armsdealer (Buy guns and ammo from gangsters) and Department Store, though.

I'll add Deathsquad Armor and Sniper Rifles to the non-TV Liberal Additions soon.

Curses / LCS Compiling Issues
« on: April 26, 2016, 10:32:05 pm »
For some reason, when downloading LCS from Github and using the "Easy mode Compile"(AKA Click on game.cpp from the workspaces folder and hit "Run", since hitting "Build" or "Build and run" doesn't work gives an error about mtune or something), there are no Augmentations(Tried to get my Founder with a Science skill of 2 to augment, but I couldn't even find it under "Recruitment and Acquisition"), Multiple Save Files(Only lets me do my one and only save file), or nerfs to the "Liberal Terrorism," strategy(Constantly shooting up the Police Station to shut it down, causing your safehouses to stop gaining Heat. Makes the rest of the game a cakewalk! The nerfing was supposed to have you keep gaining Heat even AFTER the Police Station gets shut down, allowing everyone you've pissed off to actually raid you).

Is the workspaces folder supposed to be behind, version-wise? Or is that because I didn't use the "Build" option?

Curses / Teaching bugged on unofficial r855?
« on: March 08, 2016, 09:26:45 pm »
IS teaching bugged on R855? Liberals set to teach never have their skill raise, and Liberals at the same location never seem to learn anything. Also, is Liberal Crime Squad dead? S. Fox hasn't been on for who knows how long, Improved XML Support seems to have stopped, don't know what happened to Terra Vitae...

Curses / Conservative logic in Martial Arts and Liberal Disobedience?
« on: October 22, 2015, 11:05:43 pm »
A liberal with a high enough Martial Arts skill is capable of "beating the shit [Tar] out of everyone that comes close" when he/she/xe is doing Liberal Disobedience. When it comes to actual gameplay/infiltration, however, the most a high-Martial Arts Liberal will do is punch a guy in the torso or face hard enough to kill them in one blow. And they only attack one target at a time, meaning they will get slaughtered.

Why?

Curses / What if the laws could go past Elite Liberal?
« on: October 02, 2015, 08:19:03 pm »
You know how the Conservatives "win" if the laws go Confederate(according to the LCS Wiki)? What do you guys think the laws would be like if they were able to go past Elite Liberal?

9
Curses / How would the laws be if they were "Stalinized"?
« on: August 15, 2015, 03:20:03 pm »
What would all of the the laws be if they were "Stalinized"? Privacy Rights, Police Regulation, Drug Law, Human Rights, and so on.

10
Is it possible to modify(or view, I'm fine with that too.) the game's messages itself, such as combat messages(Liberal hits the head three times BLOWING IT APART! Conservative gasps a last breath and soils the floor), pick-up lines/responses, or anything else?

11
Decided to play Liberal Crime Squad on the PC since the PC version isn't as buggy as the Android version.

1) Whats a good weapon for both weakening a important Conservative(Eminent Scientist/Hanging Judge/Radio Personality/CEO/etc) and fighting off Conservatives? Too weak of a gun and my Liberals are screwed when it comes to fighting off the rest of the Conservatives after I kidnap my target. Too strong of a gun and the Important Conservatives(Don't wear armor) explode like a blood sausage. I also have 6 Liberals running around massacring everything for my squads, so 6 Liberals shooting someone with a weak gun might kill the Conservative anyways. If I take less Liberals, I risk getting massacred.

2)I recruited a Radio Personality through kidnapping and brainwashing and sent him out with my Massacre Squads once. I forgot to equip him with a weapon after the alarm was raised, and when he attacked, he did the same Juice-draining attacks(winking, smiling) on the Conservatives. How well would a squad of 6 Important Conservatives(CEOs, Radio Personalities, and any other Conservative that attacks by draining Juice when unarmed) work?

3)My Liberals have been running around with M16s so far and massacring everyone. Occasionally, we raid the Cable/AM stations and hijack the broadcasts. Is running around at the Genetics Lab/Nuclear Power Plant/Prison/Any other place and massacring the Conservatives a good way to influence public opinion, or will it turn them against me?

12
I've been playing Liberal Crime Squad on Android lately and I've encountered a few problems.

1)How am I supposed to take a non-apartment safehouse? Theres a option in the starting question that lets you have the crackhouse, but if you don't choose it, how can you take the crackhouse? Or the abandoned buildings?

2)Are my Liberals seducing wrong? One of them has been dating a soldier from the Army Base for a few months now(constantly going on a date without spending pennies, but occasionally spending a hundred bucks), but he still hasn't turned into a love slave. (The "Spend a week" option when dating also does nothing when I press it)

3)How to interrogate efficently? Beating the conservative hostages only makes them GAIN wisdom, and by the time we get someone close to converting them the army is already raiding me.

4)How do I actually lose heat? Community service does nothing, and the heat continues to rise with each day. On my last game I was constantly jumping between safehouses due to a seduced cop constantly warning me about a raid.

5)Whats the point of the "Bluff" skill if it doesn't even do anything when I press it on Android?

6)How do I stay "in disguise"? I've read somewhere that fast talking will allow you to stay undetected even when the conservatives are suspicious, but when I try to do so they keep staring at me suspiciously or raising the alarm.

7)Where is the bank in the Android version?
