As far as weapons, keep:

- the first ACP pistol
- the GP100 revolver
- the Serbu Super short shotgun
- the rifle
- the SMG
- the molotovs
- the combat knife and switchblade
- the collapsible baton
- the fibre wire

and sell/dump the other weapons. Then buy ammo for the remaining guns.

Try to pawn:

- the diamond necklace
- the radios
- 1 lighter

Get rid of:

- the damaged Kevlar vest, BUY A NEW ONE

Buy:

- first aid kit
- brass knuckles
- smoke bombs

sounds good to me, +1
+1 I think we should prioritize selling the guns instead of dumping them also clean off the vest then try to sell it before just throwing it away.

Weapons being sold:
  • Mx4 Storm Carbine
  • Bulldog Revolver
  • M590 Shotgun
  • Lead Pipe
  • Improvised Machete

Items being sold:
  • Kevlar Vest (Badly Damaged)
  • 1 Lighter
  • Various Radios
  • Diamond Necklace

Ammunition, Weapons or Items being bought:
  • .45 ACP
  • .357 Mag
  • Shotgun Shells
  • 9x19mm
  • 5.56x45
  • First aid kits (Containing Hemostatic Injectors and Gauze Dressings, which will be added to your inventory)
  • Pair of Brass Knuckles
  • Smoke Bombs x3
  • New Kevlar Vest

All those sold items sure earned you a hefty amount of money. After buying everything you need and reloading your weapons, you're left with $380.58. After some time, your new equipment arrives in the mail. While waiting for your next assignment, you decide to read the news:

The Venturon City Times

Hope Hospital Death Toll Continues to Climb!

The confirmed at Hope Hospital has risen to 87 as police have uncovered more bodies. Investigators have found that many of the bodies found were shot, hanged, stabbed, beaten, or even mutilated prior to being set on fire. "Reports suggest that this arson attack was instigated by an incendiary device." the Chief of Police, Jeremiah Letty was reported as saying.

It has also been noted that many of the deceased were wearing unknown masks on their faces, which cannot currently be identified due to the damages inflicted upon them due to the fires...

SAW Officer Cleared of All Charges!
District Attorney Annie Sherbet has decided not to prosecute Dexter Wilson, an officer of Special Assault Warriors, following the controversial raid on an arcade that resulted in the deaths of seven men. "Mr. Wilson was well within his right to use lethal force," Sherbet concluded. "Many of the thugs that Mr. Wilson shot previously had criminal records, ranging from public nudity to distribution of contraband, and refused orders to comply. It is shameful that such a senseless waste of life had to occur, but no crimes were committed in the usage of deadly force. They deserved to die."

Dexter Wilson was one of three officers who shot and killed seven men while performing a raid on an arcade where alleged drug dealers were known to hang out. Protests have been sparked in response to the decision not to prosecute, with some protesters accusing Mrs. Sherbet of corruption and citing that the officers turned off their body cameras before the shooting as evidence of excessive use of force...

Huxley Koch Denies Mafia Ties
Facing allegations of having ties to the mafia, billionaire Huxley Koch has vehemently denied those allegations. "These are baseless lies meant to defame me," Mr. Koch said. "Crime organizations are a terrible scourge on the community, and as a law-abiding citizen I pride myself on remaining uncorrupted."

Allegations of Mr. Koch's mafia ties began when an investigator leaked documents that allegedly prove his ties to the mafia, with some questioning the authenticity of those papers. "I think these are photoshopped," one resident was quoted as saying. "If you look at the handwriting, it seems way too fake, you know what I'm saying?"

Mysterious Lights Above Courier Springs?
Strange lights in the sky were seen above Courier Springs last Friday night, prompting some to declare that this is the work of extraterrestrials. Others disagree, however, stating that the lights may have came from satellites which were launched just two weeks ago, which may have been reflecting sunlight. Others, however, have alternative theories.

"I don't think those were just satellites, you know?" Said Traitor Joe, the owner of Traitor Joe's Second Amendment Sporting Goods. "The government is clearly up to something. Or maybe the commies are up to something, for all I know. You gotta keep an eye out, because this is a warning sign of things to come..."

(Continued on page 16)

World is going to hell in a handbasket as usual. Right on cue, as if the newspaper itself triggers their arrival, there's a knock at your door. You open the door and are greeted with:

"Deal with the old man they call Lumbago Joe. Go to 73rd Yorktown Avenue. Look for the birthday party on the front lawn. He's just an old, one-eyed man with a beard. You have done well so far."

An old man? That seems easy enough. You think you've got everything you need before you set off, but it doesn't help to double check.

(Let me know if I've made a mistake with selling/buying any gear the protagonist needs for the next mission. Now that the college semester is over, I've actually got free time to work on this.)

Oh, we don’t have one yet, how about Nigel Jreg

Why the fuck not. +1

And I'm not too concerned about these guys being security risks, we won't tell them that much about us.
+1 Also where did we get a police car?

(I initially wrote the hospital escape sequence so that it would involve stealing a police car and being chased, but I didn't like the way it was going. I forgot to remove the police car from the inventory. Whoops!)

"Call me Nigel Jreg." You reply.

"Nigel, eh? I'm Freddy." Security Guard #1 responds.

"Wade." Security Guard #2 chimes in.

The Hospital Patient joins in. "Veronica!"

After some more talk, an exchange of phone numbers, and a promise by Security Guard #1 (Freddy) to buy buy beers for everyone when he gets out of the hospital, everyone goes their separate ways. Security Guard #2 (Wade) leaves, as he is not wounded. Everyone else stays at the hospital. Your wounds were fairly minor in comparison to everyone else, so your stay is only a few uneventful days.

You're the first one out of the hospital. Deciding to get your cell phone back from the repair shop, you take the bus over there, retrieve your cell phone, and then take the bus back home.

ASSIGNMENT #2 COMPLETED.

You've got some time to prepare for your next assignment. Your creditors must have heard about the hospital burning down by now, and will probably be meeting you shortly.

(Voting for the next mission will open up later. After how long the Hospital mission was, it's time for a breather mission.)

Forum Games and Roleplaying / Assassination - Target #2: The Doctors
« on: April 05, 2020, 03:04:46 pm »
Approaching the SUV owner with your firearms conspicuously visible (but not drawn), you quickly inform him that This is urgent! You've got injured with you, and that he needs to take everyone to a hospital that is not on fire.  The SUV driver stammers, mutters out something about his brother being inside the hospital, and continues staring at the inferno in disbelief. Security Guard #2 informs him that there's nothing that can be done now, and that everyone's got to leave the area now. Eventually, the SUV driver manages to recollect himself and agrees to take everyone to another hospital.

"Stay off the roads and avoid the sirens." You order the driver. "We don't want to get caught up in this mess any further."

It's a noisy drive to the hospital. The SUV driver questions just what the hell was going on in that hospital, and you explain everything that doesn't involve the part about you being a hitman. From the mannequin cult to the mysterious paramilitary group killing all witnesses in their quest to secure Doctor Faye, the driver is in disbelief. He's only able to remark that this world is going to hell in a handbasket.

Eventually, the SUV arrives at a nearby hospital near downtown. Some thanks are given to the driver, and then he drives off, dejected at the probable loss of his brother. Before going inside the downtown hospital, Security Guard #1 turns to look at you. "You got a name, man? I'd say drinks are on me after what you've done for all of us. Maybe we could all meet up sometime soon. You also got a phone number?"

Your cell phone is still at the repair shop, but at least you've got a landline. It also looks like your allies aren't just temporary, it seems.

You better start hauling ass to the elevator in the back that will lead you to the upper floors.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Let's do this, and shoot anybody that gets in the way of our ragtag crew.
+1 we need to bolt
+1
+1

Time to run! With the mannequin cultists distracted, you make your way back to where you were before. Flames and smoke rage on behind you, the smoke catching up before the flames do. Soon, there is a raging inferno chasing after you! You keep running and running, thankfully encountering no more resistance as you find the upper-floor elevator in the back of the hospital. The doors are stuck open and the broken elevator car is right inside. Looking up, you see a hatch and push it open...

Security Guard #1 lifts you up so you can climb the hatch, and then you pull him up. Once the two of you have gotten on the roof of the elevator car, you help Security Guard #2 and the Hospital Patient up. With everyone having climbed the hatch, now it's time to climb into the second floor. Your allies provide enough lift to climb up the shaft into the opened elevator doors on the second floor, and then you pull them up.

You are now on the second floor. At this point, the inferno has claimed the now-burning elevator car below you, and the smoke rises up the elevator shaft into the second floor. Everyone runs towards the windows in a rush to escape, only to find the windows frozen shut. Thinking quickly, you smash the windows with your lead pipe and quickly clear away the shards of broken glass, opening a path for everyone to drop down from the second floor to the ground floor.

Your rag-tag group goes out the window and lands on the ground, breaking into a roll to reduce the impact of the fall. The entire accursed hospital burns behind you, and you hear the shouts and screams of Mannequin Men to your left as they stumble out of the flames, now on fire.

"SALVATION! SALVATION!! SALVATION!!!" The mannequin men shriek as their flesh begins to melt off their skin, causing them to laugh maniacally.

Ahead of the burning mannequins is an SUV with the door open. A horrified onlooker stands next to his vehicle, apparently having visited the hospital at the wrong time. He is only able to stare at the burning hospital with his mouth agape and a cell phone to his ears. You can hear the sound of a police dispatcher trying to make sure that he’s still on the line, reassuring him that personnel have already been dispatched to the hospital.

That SUV could be your ticket to escaping this hospital before the police show up.

Keybindings would be nice for the next release, aiming at legs set to 'b' results in a lot of accidental attacks.

Also, any chance of getting this on Github?

Edit: A LOT of accidental attacks. I knew something put me off, this is my third time trying out the mod in just a year. No idea how many times in all I've returned, made this "discovery" and rage quit. :P

You can aim at the legs in Terra Vitae mod?

« on: February 16, 2020, 02:43:30 pm »
Okay, at this point we run back down the stairs we came from.

Shit. Shit. Shit! It's time to run! Maybe that darkened bathroom would have provided enough cover, but you're better off safe than sorry! Everyone starts retreating back to the stairs as the yells get even louder than you'd thought would be possible. You look over your shoulder as you run and see several people spilling out from around a corner at the end of the hallway, holding lit molotov cocktails and a variety of weapons.

"Unbelieving heathen scum!" One of the mannequin men yell. "Take this!"

Gunshots start ringing out, bullets cracking as they whizz by. Your group has a head start, however, so you're not exposed to gunfire for long.

"You think you can hide from the mighty eye of the Great Mannequin? Think again! We will avenge our fallen!" Another shout as you finally make it back to the beginning of the hallway and run around a corner.

You keep running and running. There's no time to be sneaking around to avoid encountering the Viper Team, but you don't see any sign of them yet. As you turn into the stairs and make your way down, you hear the mob of crazed mannequin cultists catching up, but none of them think to check the stairs. You watch with paused breaths as they speed past the doorway, continuing on their path forward...

"Viper Three, hostile at your two-o-clock! Open fire!" You hear someone shout in the distance. "Spread out! Spread out!"

Gunshots and screams start ringing out. Several bodies hit the floor as a raging gun battle starts between the Viper Team and the Mannequin Mob.

"Burn with your friends in hell!" A Mannequin suddenly shouts over the gunfire. "GRENADE!"

There's a brief pause in the gunfire, and you suddenly hear a glass bottle breaking followed by the sound of flames crackling, and agonized screaming.

"IT BURNS! IT BUR---"

A body hits the floor, followed by more gunshots and the sound of a scuffle. You suddenly hear more agonized screaming.

"Man down! Man down! Get out of there, Viper Two--- AAAARGH!"

Another gunshot, and then the sound of a body hitting the floor before there is silence.

"Viper One to Command! I'm pulling out! Viper Three and Four are KIA! The hospital is burning down and we are unable to continue with the mission--- HURK!"

You hear footsteps and a rapid burst of gunfire, followed by more screaming and groans of agony. A violent struggle can be heard.

"Viper One, what's wrong? Come in, Viper One! VIPER ONE!" Command screams over the radio.

Well, that went to hell fast. Now the hospital is burning down and you can't even escape via the reception area, even if you wanted to.

You better start hauling ass to the elevator in the back that will lead you to the upper floors.

Does anyone know where to get started when modding the game? I want to make a mod, but I don't know how to get into the code. I can make weapons and other things like that easily, but other than that I don't know much else. Thanks.

You can make simple mods by going into the "art" folder and looking at the XMLs. Backup those XMLs, though.

Okay, so we're in the right hallway. The room above has people with guns ( I'm assuming Viper Team, correct me if I'm wrong ), and the place below with the question marks and beyond likely has Mannequins.

Go search the hallway for anything useful, tell this patient to stay in the middle of our group, cause they're not much use otherwise. Plus if they turn out to be an enemy and try to stab us in the back our security guard friends might be able to stop them.

If there's nothing useful in the right corridor, I guess we try to make it through the question mark room as cautiously as we can. One person watching our rear the entire times, with our own guy taking point.

+1 Also have the second security guard load the glock 17 so they have two loaded guns.

"We're heading to the elevator. You can come with us, but stay in the middle of our group and don't try anything funny." You state.

"Okay." The patient replies as she tags along.

"Somebody watch our flanks. We need to carefully approach the elevator, and danger could come from anywhere." You command to your followers.

"I'll do it." Security Guard #2 says. He loads his Glock 17 as he does so, and keeps his eyes out for any danger behind you.

You carefully make your way down the right corridor, seeing absolutely nothing of interest or use to loot. All you can hear is the sounds of ventilation and distant footsteps, keeping you on edge as you slowly make it towards the elevator. You pass by some darkened bathrooms in the side of the corridor when those distant footsteps suddenly start getting louder, accompanied along with sudden yells and screams.

"Those bastards are in the reception area! Cleanse them with the holiest of fires and avenge our fallen brothers and sisters for the Great Mannequin! Clear the way of any disbelievers in our path and ride forward to salvation!" A booming voice thunders down the halls.

"SALVATION!" They shout in unison.

"SALVATION!!" They shout again in unison.

"SALVATION!!!" They shout yet again in unison, their battle cries echoing down as they get closer and closer.

It sounds like an entire horde! They're coming, fast!

There's no telling just how many mannequins are going to come around the corner, and you hope that they're not going to literally cleanse anyone they come across with fire. The last thing you need is the hospital burning down while you're still inside.

Lets go up stairs but not in the elevator use it stairs instead, then once at the top of the stairs carefully look out and see whats going on up there.

+1 Plus, if we've reloaded all our weaponry, let's dump any empty guns. I'm assuming extra weight might slow us down.
We already reloaded everything, I say don't drop the empty ones and instead we keep the USP match do to its ammo capacity, and give the Glock 19 to the second security guard.
+1

You transfer the rounds in the 1911 to the USP Match, then start ditching your empty guns to reduce weight while your allies do the same. You drop the 1911 and give the Glock 19 to Security Guard 2, who transfers his rounds from the Glock 17 to the Glock 19. With your inventory taken care of, the three of you decide to take the stairs back up, rather than the elevator. No signs of danger are present as you look carefully once you get to the top of the stairs.

You eventually make your way to the Adj. Hallway, and then the Security Room. The corpses of the Anaconda Team members you previously killed are still nearby, flies gathering around them. Evidence of your battle still remains, judging from all the bullet holes in the walls and the floor, along with the burn marks on the floor from flashbang grenades. As you take a look around the security room, you notice a smashed cellphone jamming device mounted on the wall. This must have been the jammer that Viper Team was talking about on the radio. The thought of someone calling the police flashes through your mind. Jammer's down, so now anyone can make a phone call. But is anyone even still alive to call the police? You doubt that the Viper Team nor the Mannequin Cultists would want to call the police, but you're not sure if there are any civilians still alive to call the cops.

There's no sign of immediate danger yet. You take a look at Anaconda One's corpse, still lying in the elevator, and decide to keep taking the stairs. Finding another flight of stairs up, you eventually end up on the ground floor. Sneaking around silently to avoid encountering the Viper Team, you make your way to the Right Hallway. More corpses greet you as you open the doors and enter the hallway, and then you suddenly spot someone.

That blood-stained, cane-wielding hospital patient from before, peeking her head out from around the corner as she hears the doors opening.

"Psst!" She whispers. "Keep it quiet. There's more mannequin freaks lurking around. Are you here to take the elevator to the second floor, too? It's broken and that's where the mannequins are. Stay away from the reception area, too. Some guys came in and started shooting at anyone they saw, but they don't look like those mannequin weirdos."

I just wanna say, Taberone, especially since it's Christmas, this is the most fun I've had with a suggestion game on this forum, it feels like. Thank you for putting in this much work, for listening to all the weird ideas, implementing them, while still clearly having some sort of story in mind.

(Thanks. Also, happy new year.)

Take the machete and place the kitchen knife where the machete used to be
(I’m assuming the machete is better than the kitchen knife)

You replace your Kitchen Knife with the Improvised Machete.

+1 to equipment changes and all reloading, as well as looking for a better floor plan.

Barring any other way out, the only plan I have in my head is this:

1. Find some fire extinguishers
2. Make some molotov cocktails.
3. Have ourself positioned in the in the power generator room, with our security guard friends positioned in the Mannequin's chamber. Set up a cross-fire.
4. Find some way to bait Viper Team into entering the side entry corridor, then throw molotovs at them ourselves from the doorway of the power generator
5. If they get hit by molotovs, great. If not, they'll advance on us towards the power generator room. We hide and try to avoid getting hit.
6. Once Viper Team goes past the doorway to the Mannequin room, our security guard friends burst out and open fire on them from behind, while we do the same from their front.

Hopefully an ambush like that'd be enough to kill 4 guys with body armour and military grade weaponry. But I'm hoping we can find a way out instead.

That plan is a last resort, admittedly. We're probably gonna die if we try that.
Right, we should try to escape first
Lets mark that as plan B for now.

(Remember to bring it up again when it's time for Plan B, assuming that Plan A fails. Given how infrequently I am able to update, I kinda forget things.)

Take the machete and place the kitchen knife where the machete used to be
(I’m assuming the machete is better than the kitchen knife)
+1 Also reload all the guns and see if the security guards know where we can get a floor plan for the building so we can figure out how to get out of here.

(You reload all the weapons in your inventory, but there is not enough for all of them. Submachine guns and pistol-caliber carbines have taken priority when it comes to reloading. The Glock 19 and USP Match remain empty due to this prioritization.)

"Are there any floor plans or anything? Surely there's got to be a way to escape without having to go out the front door and get shot full of holes. Some less-than-stellar folks are camping out there, waiting for us."

"Floor plans should be in one of the security offices around here. It's either the security offices near the elevator or inside that barricaded one." He points to Security Room #3. Might as well check out Security Room #3, since it's the closest one. With the aid of your other security guard allies, you all push the door with enough force to dislodge the barricade. Making your way inside and searching through the office with a flashlight, you illuminate the corpse inside and discover that this is the corpse of an engineer.

"Damn it." One of your allies states as the corpse is illuminated. "He was the only one that was in favor of actually fixing that damn upper-floor access elevator back on the ground floor."

You notice a slip of paper on the floor, by the corpse. Picking it up and reading it through, you find some rather hastily-made scribbles that only a pharmacist could read. These sure as hell aren't floor plans, that's for sure. Trying your best to decipher the handwriting, it appears that this engineer had an escape plan you can use for yourself.

You can still use the ground-floor elevator in the back of the hospital to access the upper floors... But you'll just need to do some climbing. You'll need to pry open the emergency trap door on top of that ground-floor elevator, and climb the maintenance ladders inside the elevator shaft to an upper floor, then pry the elevator doors to the second floor open. From there, you can use the windows on the second floor to escape. The specific elevator you need to access is found at the end of the Right Hallway from the Ground Floor.

How did this place pass the fire code inspection?

"How did this place even pass a damn fire inspection?" You ask.

"Beats me. Probably bribed the inspectors." One guard replies.

Okay, so they're not in the side entry corridor, otherwise we'd have seen them on the way to the power generator. Which means they're likely in the Outside the Elevator Room, at the very least.

We don't have any way to booby trap or barricade the door from, so let's just move, along with our security guard friends if we can, and explore the rooms downward, looting as much ammunition and weaponry as possible from fallen corpses, as well as any containers we find. I especially wanna see what's in the ? ? ? room.

I'm just hoping we find something useful, and the radio will hopefully give us ample warning before they move in on us.

Making your way to the mysterious room by the solitary hallway, the three of you remain on guard for hostiles. Where are they? That couldn't have been all of them! No signs of life are detected as you keep going down the halls. The tension is so intense that you almost wish someone would pop out from around a corner.

Searching whatever bodies and containers you find, you only manage to discover $0.17 in loose pocket change and two more hemostatic injectors. They have been automatically looted.

You finally reach the solitary hallway. Despite the flickering lights and how dark the hallway is, no mannequin men come screaming down said hallway as you approach. You go into the mystery room and find that it is a corridor leading to another security room. The security room antechamber is full of corpses and overturned tables, with blood and bullet holes littering the walls. The corpses of mannequin men are scattered across the room, mixed in with dead hospital staff and patients that clearly had their last stand here before being overrun.

"Jesus." Security Guard #1 says. "I... I think they got Frank." He points to a body slumped against the corner, still clutching a Model 635 submachine gun. Five dead mannequin men lay in front of him, having all been riddled with lead before expiring from blood loss... But not before they stabbed him with broken bottles and makeshift machetes. Loose ammunition has spilled out of his pockets and is all over the floor. As you move to the center of the room, keeping an eye in all directions, you still anxiously await an attack that hasn't arrived. Not yet, anyways.

You try the door to the security room, but it's been physically blocked from the inside by a heavy object. As you stand outside the door to the security room, you look through the window to the side and see nothing but dim, flickering lights overhead, and you can make out a corpse hanging from the ceiling. The security monitors mounted to the walls are providing the rest of the illumination in the room, and you see a security feed of the main lobby on the monitors.

Four unknown men in masks and Kevlar vests guarding the front door, armed with rifles and submachine guns. Two of them stand guard by the front door, and the other two are patrolling around the room flushing out any potential hiding places. The figures on the security feed suddenly raise their firearms and open fire as a hospital patient wanders into view, tearing that patient to bloody shreds. Your radio crackles to life.

"Target eliminated."

"Was that the guy who attacked the Anaconda Team?"

"Just one of the patients, but we're not leaving any witnesses."

You search through the security room's antechamber, opening containers and looting bodies to find the following loot:
[9x19mm, SMG] Model 635 (0/30 rounds)  (Automatically looted)
[.357, Revolver] GP100 (2/6 rounds) (Automatically looted)
20 rounds of 9x19 (Automatically looted)
6 rounds of .357 Mag. (Automatically looted)
5 shotgun shells. (Automatically looted)
A combat knife. (Automatically looted)
A lighter, rags, and two bottles full of vodka. A molotov cocktail? (Automatically looted)
Some improvised machetes.
Several broken bottles, some of which are leaking vodka all over the floor.
Several sharpened broom handles, all broken in half.

You're surprised none of the Mannequin Men were suicidal enough to use a Molotov Cocktail while indoors. The fact that they even improvised these incendiary devices, however, is troubling.
