Carefully make our way to the power generator. If it's clear, try and reactivate it.
+1 Also ask the security guards if they know of any alternative routes out of the building.
+1

Carefully making your way back to the power generator, you encounter surprisingly no resistance. You check the corners and everything, but it's clear. Turning the power back on is as simple as flipping a switch.

Shortly after, however, Anaconda One's radio comes back to life.

"Viper One to Command, the cell phone jamming device has gone dead. Requesting orders!"

"Command to Viper One. Continue standing by at your current location. Whoever attacked the Anaconda Team is still in there!"

You turn to ask the other security guards about alternative escape routes. Going out through the front would force you into battling the Viper Team.

"Damn. There's got to be another way out that's not the front door. Know of any other way out?" You ask the other security guards.

"Not really. The hospital was only designed to have one entrance and exit. I'm not the idiot that designed this hospital." One of them responds.

"Technically, we could find another elevator on the ground floor in the back of the hospital, go to the upper levels, and jump out the window there." The other one interjects.

"That elevator's broken, remember? Maintenance was supposed to fix it, but they never did. Probably because they joined that stupid mannequin cult."

"Crap."

Doctor Faye collapses to the ground, sits up, and defiantly continues shooting at your ally until you put another round between her eyes.

TARGET DOWN: Doctor Faye!
All targets eliminated! Now escape!

Making your way over to your ally, you discover that most of Dr. Faye's gunfire was absorbed by his body armor... Except for the one bullet that struck him in the thigh, because the Kevlar vest doesn't cover the legs. He's bleeding pretty bad.

Slightly confused here.

Loot Dr. Faye and all corpses with guns, we might need some ammo. Then check up on security guard friend.
+1 Also pick up the glock 19 we dropped, and we should also tell the security guard that showed up that we have a man in need of assistance.

“Don’t worry! We’re not one of the mannequins! We’ve got a man in need of assistance.” You state.

“He’s with me!” Your security guard ally chimes in. “I’m wounded!”

“Hold on! I’ll be right there!” The other security guard replies. Turning on a flashlight, he finds the two of you and goes over to your security guard ally. While he does so, you pick up the dropped glock 19.

“I’ve got a hemostatic injector. Hold still.” The other security guard says as he injects it into your ally’s wounds, stopping the bleeding. It’ll stabilize him for now, but he’s still going to need medical care once you escape.

Looting the bodies, you find:
M590 Shotgun + 5x shotgun shells
Mini-14 Rifle + 20x 5.56x45mm
12x .45 ACP
10x 9x19mm
Another Hemostatic Injector
Some Gauze Dressings
$50 bill
A Diamond Necklace. Might be worth good money at the pawnshop.

You should probably get to work on escaping now. But the power’s been flicked off and you’re not sure if the elevator will even work without it.

Curses / Re: Have any of you ever tried to win with ONLY sleeper agents?
« on: November 18, 2019, 12:12:12 am »
As the title says I got a brand new challenge which is essentially try to use ONLY sleeper agents except for the founder. Have any of you ever tried this? At least try to use sleeper agents more often, as I got an idea of how sleeper agents can be this conspiracy Illuminati thing except for Liberals!  8)

How would you gain money?

Some sleepers can embezzle money and goods.

Moreover, in a sleeper-only run, what would be the use for money?

The only reliable way to enlighten hostages during a sleepers-only run, even with 18+ Psychology, is to constantly spam Drugs + Props ($300 total) every day.

Oh, and you need a high First-Aid skill so you can defib the hostage when he overdoses on drugs, so you're gonna need to [L]earn in the University District to train that First Aid skill, probably.

0.6B is out - Updating to LCS 4.12.41 is required.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / (SG) Assassination - Target #2: The Doctors
« on: October 30, 2019, 10:28:54 am »
((Take care with the power outage stuff. Hope you've got non-perishable foods ))

Open fire on Doctor Faye, with our 1911 ACP pistol.
+1
Start shooting Dr Faye

You start shooting at Dr. Faye with your 1911, and she stops her assault on your ally to recoil from the bullets striking her. Your ally continues shooting at Dr. Faye, and the combined fire from both of you result in her being riddled with lead.

Anaconda One's radio then turns on.

"Anaconda Four to Command. I'm out of the combat zone! It's up to Viper Team to finish the job now!"

"Copy that, Anaconda Four! Viper Team, continue standing guard and wait for hostile contact! There's no way out but through you."

"This is Viper Three. Acknowledged, Command!"

As the radio goes quiet, you suddenly hear the unknown security guard shouting out from the Solitary Hallway.

"Hospital Security! What the hell is happening over there?"

Guess that security guard decided to wait until the gunfire died down to stick his head out.

Never tried, I always do direct action with sleepers being another part of the pie, but not the main dish. Might try one day.

I'm actually having another issue now. I can't seem to get any of the new guns. I can't find them for sale from stores or gang members and I haven't seen any drop as loot either. Anyone know what's up with that? Thanks

0.6 is out! Work begins on the Conservative Armory Expansion, and some of the new guns can now actually spawn in the game world! You're gonna have to loot them off the corpses of fallen conservatives for now, though. Things are still very WIP.

New guns are implemented, but cannot be found yet. I'll actually have them in the stores of gang members/pawnshop once I finish adding the rest.

0.5 is up. See attached "modding changes" file or the OP for details. Needs some testing from the community, since I've got college and not as much time to do so. Overall, it is a mixed nerf and buff with more focus on fixed, rather than random, weapon damage.

First let's open fire on the mannequin pinning us in place, we can't dodge if they're doing that.

That damn mannequin pinning you in place! You raise your Mx4 Storm and let loose with a small burst, hearing the mannequin man scream as your bullets rip and tear into his torso. Having been hit twice in the vitals with no armor to blunt the blows, the mannequin man collapses to the floor, writhing in agony. He soon expires from blood loss.

First let's open fire on the mannequin pinning us in place, we can't dodge if they're doing that.
Right
+1 then
Fire at Dr. Redshank
+1

You transition your aim to where Dr. Redshank was standing in the dark and fire, only to strike thin air. The room suddenly lights up with a massive, deafening BOOM, and you suddenly feel a massive blow against your kevlar vest that goes into your chest. Were it not for the Kevlar vest, you would have been outright killed or crippled! But it still hurts, a lot, and your breath has been knocked out of you.

You lie on the floor in pain for a brief few seconds, and Doctor Redshank fires again as you struggle to roll out of the way. You barely dodge the flurry of pellets, raise your Mx4 Storm at Doctor Redshank, and unload on him, dumping an entire five-round burst into the good doctor and downing him. Without any body armor, the number of bullets that did manage to hit Doctor Redshank proves to be fatal. Redshank murmurs a curse quietly, his breathing becoming more and more shallow until he expires.

As you catch your breath, your attention quickly turns to Doctor Faye, her face lit up by the muzzle flash of her gun. She's still standing in the Side-Entry Corridor, shooting in the direction of the Power Generator! Your ally continues trading bullets with her.

So as i have not followed much of development recently, is there a tileset left in the game after the purge that is kept up to date ?

The default is now Retrodays, which has been getting some intermittent updates by people on the project. It's...retro. I'm not as familiar with it but it's still a good set. At least it's not Chesthole's deformed chibis, missing tiles, and wildly inconsistent sense of perspective.

Retrodays is the default now? Sweet! I love the Retrodays tileset. It's retro and very readable, and I like it better than ASCII.

Curses / Re: [MOD]Liberal Overhaul+Rebalance 0.4
« on: September 22, 2019, 04:59:59 pm »
Agent cars? Are those armed with rockets and machine guns? ;-)

If I knew how to make vehicles have weapons integrated into them, it would be cool. Imagine an entire squad of LCS operatives stealing a tank and firing the turret backwards at the police as they drive off? Or Agents trying to blow up the entire car with you inside as you escape from the Ministry of Love.

44
0.4 added. It is still not done, because I went a BIT overboard and added in a shitton of guns and melee weapons (but they do not spawn anywhere in the game yet) on top of further tweaks to vanilla weapons. Have a little something while I work on adding the rest.

Notable changes off the top of my head (See the attached readme in the dropbox link to see full changes):

Generic-ish ammo piles like "Heavy Pistol" or "Light Pistol" to accommodate for a variety of weapon calibers and capacities, because I am NOT making 8-round 9mm magazines (Luger), 8-round .45 magazines (.45 Pistol), 7.62x25 magazines (Tokarev TT-33) 32-round 9mm magazines (TEC-9), 7.62×54mmR drums (PKM) and so on just so that all guns have correct ammo, since you can't transfer ammo from one mag to another. You'll be drowning in Luger mags (9mm), yet be starving of 9mm SMG mags (also 9mm).

Further attempts to rebalance guns and reduce one-shot kills from non-burst weapons. Also standardized damage from melee weapons.

Added, but not implemented: Unarmed weapons like brass knuckles, MP40 and PPSH, TEC-9, Tomahawk, Sniper Rifle, P90 and Five SeveN, PKM, MG42, Microgun,

All vehicles available at dealership, gain Juice for stealing Agent Cars, HMMWV

Weapon size rebalances and several weak melee weapons now do not protect against kidnapping (ex. cross, spraycan)

Real-world weapon names (Ex. ".45 Pistol" --> Colt 1911)

Certain armors have drug/assault bonuses during interrogation, Deathsquad Uniform is now Deathsquad Armor (No more free M16's for you!)

45
This is bad. All of them have guns. And we're surrounded.

Our best bet is the carbine. Get right on the floor, then spray fire in a circle around us.

Drawing your Mx4 Storm carbine and diving to the floor just as Doctor Faye blasts away at you with her rifle, you start spraying bullets in a circle around you to maximize hit probability in the darkness! You hear exclamations of pain and the footsteps of someone stumbling back. Doctors Faye and Redshank continue firing at your last known location, bullets and pellets harmlessly whizzing by above you. Before the muzzle flashes fade, you look around you and see:

Doctor Redshank with blood running down his clothing, pumping a shotgun.
Doctor Faye with blood running from her shoulder. She turns around and flees while the others stay behind.
A grazed mannequin man pointing a pistol at you and repeatedly trying to fire, but the slide of his gun is locked back. No ammo.

Aim at Dr. Faye using the sound of his footsteps to know where he is
*Her footsteps

Aiming for the source of rapid footsteps running away from the fight, you let off several taps of the trigger and hear a brief yelp of pain from Doctor Faye, followed by a thud. Doctor Faye, however, immediately gets back up and limps away again. Before you can fire once more, a hail of buckshot impacting the floor right next to you and kicking up dust distracts you. You roll away as Doctor Redshank pumps his shotgun and fires again, dodging another blast that harmlessly impacts the floor.

As you finish rolling, you hear gunfire being exchanged from where your ally was standing guard. There's no time to take that into account, however, as you immediately feel someone stepping on your leg to pin you in place. The mannequin man with an empty gun!
