Trust me, comrad Splint, the people's warhammer shall soon meet their dainty little heads.
If revolutions are added, we need warhammer-powered guillotines.

Actually Apache took over OpenOffice, and have been making releases, so now both exist...
But LibreOffice has most of the original devs for OpenOffice.org while Apache OpenOffice has newcomers who don't have the years of experience the LibreOffice devs do.

About the "ink" tiles, yup, having a sepia background could do for a good "fantasy style" map. But I don't think is possible or even if it were, I don't think is going to happen. And as it is right now.... let's say that an ink map is... less than pretty (and quite useless). You can take a look at my test HERE. That's a horrible 15 minutes tileset, but enough for me to get the feeling for it.
Can I have the tiles for that to play around with? Cuz that's purty. *drools*

How do I zoom in/out?
I thought I could use scroll wheel, but no luck.
Am I being stupid?
Check your key bindings, Ironhand. The scroll wheel should work . . . O_o

Tilesets and Graphics / Re: New tileset in the making... 24 or 32 px?

I don't prefer full bodies. There's much less face detail, the differences between races are harder to see, it's harder to find them on the map, and the size of items is already so out of proportion compared to the people that making them full-bodied seems odd and clashes with the rest of the set.

I have an NVS 160M, and it can't handle the lowest settings on MWO and requires lowest render quality on KSP, although the laptop only has a Core 2 Duo at 2.8 Ghz and 4 gigs of RAM . . .

NOTE-- this will reduce the amount of RAM available for system use.
He's got 8 gigs, and Skyrim only needs about 4, so I think he's good . . . :P

(lost post after Firefox crashed on the Lenovo forums (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ)
It's your graphics. The HD 4600 is integrated graphics, not a dedicated GPU. Your lack of a dedicated GPU makes your games hang up.
This guy gets 13-23 fps with a 4770K: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS0reJ_F3uI
The amount of RAM your integrated graphics can use is limited.

Have you set your integrated graphics settings to "high performance" yet?

Noticed something strange. The GPU temps are reaching 82C according to GPU-Z. There's no way that can be right. This laptop barely gets warm with serious use.
\OoO/ i dun even

Maybe nobles could mandate fortress anniversary celebrations?

Anything by Karen Traviss. I've only read her Star Wars books, but she was lead writer for Gears of War 3, and she's written Gears and Halo books, in addition to her own series. Best author I've read, hands down.

Are there any better ones in that price range?
Definitely. You can get a laptop with a GTX 960M for about $900, and one with a 980M for about $1600. Take a look:
http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-clevo-sager-notebooks-ct-95_51_162.html
(I know Sager has quality, but I can't vouch for any other brand on that site. Sager is the best value anyway.)

Alternatively (this is what I'm doing), you could get a laptop with a good CPU and integrated graphics and use an external PCIe adapter for your graphics card. That way, as your graphics card gets outdated, you can upgrade it, and your laptop will run cooler when it doesn't need a graphics card. (Haswell chips already run pretty hot -- adding a GPU to the already underpowered cooling system of a laptop isn't the greatest.)

IMO, there are already enough parties. Constant reveling is going on in my dining hall. =_=
