The atomic bomb was near Vanadium. She grabbed the random guy and then ran into the atomic bomb. The guy was evaporated, but not Vanadium.
Vanadium was like Superman!
However, Vanadium had to suffer radiation poisoning, since that was a plutonium bomb...
