Gotta love that in this game. Real life? Byzantines fell apart slowly over time. CKII? Nope. At worst they'll slowly lose territory then reclaim it.

Well, this may be the only time in history that the AI is smarter than real life. The Byzantines mostly fell apart due to rulers getting drunk and partying instead of dealing with the Arab Doomstacks/scheming nobles.

Hondrasaan: Implode the Inquisitors' lungs.
Cult: Take cover in the new fort in case any survive. Find things lying around that you can use as weapons.

Hondrasaan: Rest and get some water. Un-hangover yourself.
Engineer cultists: Build living quarters in the base
Pope: Accept the wayward heretics back into your loving embrace (de-inquisition the Catholics)

Playing as Byzantines circa 890. Reclaim Kingdom of Italy (well, most of it) through a vassalized claimant. Predictably, the entire world freaks the f*ck out, with Mongol pagans thousands of miles away on a steppe somewhere panicking and forming defensive pacts.

We're facing off against Sigurd Hring with 1 county. Yaaay.
