"That would be an honorific and a name that I respond to, yes."

"Oh. Okay. I'm Logica. You can throw a 'Miss' before that if you're into the formal thing. I don't care either way. So, how much do you know about Endless City? Anything more than what FAFNiR told me?"

392
"I do not have any information on the Endless City that you do not already know, Miss, other than perhaps, as Miss Alanis has implied, this area may intersect with other dimensions. Although this idea explains the multi-universal travelers, it also may come with the side-effect of your "Quantum Storage" malfunctioning."

"Endless City? Gideon-"

Gideon: DATABANK SHOWS 9,343 REFERENCES TO 'ENDLESS CITY'.

"Give me the most recent."

Gideon: UNABLE TO COMPLY; INTEGRITY COMPROMISED. FETCHING EARLIEST AVAILABLE LOG.

> salvaging . . . 42% recovered.

Gideon: ACCORDING TO THIS DATABIT, ENDLESS CITY IS A PLACE THAT ACTS AS A HUB OF SORTS, CONNECTING DIFFERENT UNIVERSES AND REALITIES, EVEN AS FAR AS MULTIPLE PERSONS IN DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS OR UNIVERSES.

"So, I was wrong. There are other verses out there, and I'm from one of what could be hundreds. Gideon, create a new entry log: Endless City."
Finally, Logica felt like she was making some progress. "From now on, any new scans or information are to be automatically put in the 'Endless City' folder. Even if we've already scanned it elsewhere."

Gideon: ENTRY SAVED. AUTO-LOG PROTOCOL SET TO: ENDLESS CITY WITH OVERWRITE PERMISSIONS GRANTED.

"It's a HUB.  Everything's twisted all together."

"I take it you're 'Miss Alanis'?"

"I believe a man mentioned there were training facilities somewhere around this area. Perhaps we could use it four our duel?"

Gideon: MA'AM. YOU CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR QUANTUM STORAGE.

"What?! How the hell do I lack access to my bots?!"

Gideon: IT SEEMS THAT THIS DIMENSION IS CAUSING THE FUNCTIONALITY OF YOUR DEVICE TO MALFUNCTION. RUNNING A SYSTEMS TEST.

> running . . .

"Hey you. FAFNiR. I don't like it when the things I made malfunction so...why don't you tell me what the deal with this place is?"

395
For a moment, once could almost swear there was an iota of emotion in FAFNiR's eyes. "What are the capabilities of these Battleroids, Miss?"

"It depends on the 'roid." Logica rubbed her chin for a moment. "I could use the Aeroserin XC550. I need to get actual test data on the 500 series anyway. But this cafe doesn't leave much room for flying things...or combat in general."

396
The SURROUNDING area, guy. The area outside of the cafe. I only know there is a gym and a bus stop.

397
Did we ever get a description on the surrounding area? My following post is relevant to this.

398
FAFNiR crosses her arms. "I do not believe your classifications can apply to me. I am the Cactus Company's Combat Model Number 002 "FAFNiR" version one point three six."

"That's not a company nor a class that I'm familiar with. Combat model, huh? You don't seem that impressive to me. Maybe we can test your abilities against one of my Battleroids? I'd scan you, but I'm still waiting for the scan on the red-head here to finish."

Alanis sighs.

"Ladies, robots, compare e-peens later, please."

"Hey. Shut up."

399
"Interesting technology. what model of scanner is that, Miss? Does it have an AI?"

"Model? This here is no model. Well, it is. It's just not anything you can get unless you can find and decipher Vasari data. It does have an AI. In fact, it has several, but I can only use one at a time for now. Gideon is the latest, capable of manifesting into a physical form made of hard-light. Say hi, Gideon!"

Gideon: GREETINGS, UNKNOWN AUTOMATON. I AM UNIT Z0677 GPQ-

"Shut up, Gideon. You talk too much."

Gideon: YES, MA'AM.

"Say. You're a pretty neat looking machine. What's your class? Line Droid? S-Series? Ooh--are you a new generation Battleroid?!"

400
"I would prefer if you didn't."
Penelope tries to move out of the way of Logica.

"Oh. Well, I'm gonna do it anyway! Gideon, .//Scan!"

Gideon: RIGHT AWAY, MA'AM.

Logica attempts to get a readout on Penelope.

"Hey! No fights while I'm collecting information! I swear, if any magic bolts hit me, it's going to be game over for whoever threw it!"

Climb up the stairs on the side of the apartment.

The waitress shakily writes down her order.
"W-will that b-be all?"
"Yes, mademoiselle. That will be all."

Penelope raises an eyebrow at the newcomer. She adjusts her glasses.
"Sure! Tony, do you mind if I talk to this lady?"
"Hmm." Logica leaned closer to Penelope, invading her personal space to 'inspect' her. "Looks pretty Terran, but...isn't. I've seen a lot of species in my day, but none this close to my own."

"So, where am I and...what are you? You're not the same species but you look pretty similar. Mind if I scan you?"

403
Missile Squad, ready for combat.

404
It's not even a good game, to be fair. I'm waiting for Pokémon Sun and Moon and their inevitable easiness and terribleness.
I stopped F-ing with that series after Emerald.

405
The waitress slowly heads back.
"S-sorry, ma'am! Won't happen again! A-A burger is j-just a....beef inside a b-bun! With lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and relish!"
Sheera could sense that her waitress was a little skittery. Was she scared or nervous?

"No need for apologies, or nerves. I don't bite. I'm just a peaceful patron. A passer-by."

She flashed a graceful smile before continuing. Her voice was rather soothing.

"I'll take one burrr-gerrr, please. Could you, perhaps, give me something to read as well? Please and thank you."

"Hm. Who to scan first? Who to talk to first?"

Logica notices a girl with a pen tucked in her ear a few yards away from her.

A journalist? Well, she'd be as good as it'll get for information, she thought.

"You there. Annie with the pen tucked on top of your ear. Got time for an interview?"
