Utilities and 3rd Party Applications / Re: DFHack 0.44.12-r1
« on: September 06, 2018, 01:09:13 pm »
i forgot how to fix mousequery... i think it was just a fixed dfhack .plug.so somewhere on github though.
copypastinging the mousequery.plug.so from the 44.09 just doesnt work - saying it were written for another version of dfhack.
the only thing that doesnt work is the scrolling on screenborder when not in any dmode or lmode or qmode.
i'll post this in dfhack and twbt support threads, because i remember something about twbt having its own version of mousequery.

you got me curious on the succubus mod, but i can't get mousequery working properly on 44.12, so i will most likely not be able to use that aswell :(

It can't have been a Lua file - mousequery isn't written in Lua and doesn't expose anything to Lua either.
well, it was a .dll(win version) or an .sh(linux) then.

I like the bed too :D

i'm all alone
there's a difference between being alone and being lonely - although one can be both at the same time.
i sometimes enjoy being alone and sometimes feel lonely surrounded by people.

also it would be easier if the menu only appeared when using it and allowing mouseclicks there too.
You can control when the menu appears.

DF defaults to a triple-paned screen, with the mini-mp on the left, menus in the middle, and the Z-level map on the right, but you can turn both the Z-level map and the menu off if you hit tab.

Mouse support would be nice, tho.
well, that doesn't work too well with a 5:4 screen. i almost never use anything apart from the slender menu on the right, which then takes up 1/4 of the screen width.
also streamlining constructions and buildings into ONE build menu, allowing to mass-deconstruct furniture and workshops the same way you have to use to deconstruct built walls and floors.
mining actions also working on constructed walls and floors. like where is the difference in making Fortificatiosn from a smoothed wall and a constructed wall? seriously.

store it far from reach together with my glasses as i don't need any of these when teaching people how to use an english longbow.
I mean, as long as you aren't actually firing actual arrows I guess there's little risk of accidentally impaling someone with one, but still  :P
i can see clear enough to not risk that even without my glasses :)

it was just some alternative .lua for mousequery from some fork of the dfhack.git
without that link, i would never find it - and i don't remember in which thread i asked and who gave me the solution and even how long ago that was... it is for version 44.09... so i hope it would work with newer versions aswell...

i actually meant that part about the local products and the neighbours.
AC is nice and a radiator with a boiler in the house is for the most part a necessity, but a simpler life is often a happier life nonetheless:
I always enjoy the handful of days on medieval reenactment events, where i deactivate my cellphone completely once every groupmember has arrived and store it far from reach together with my glasses as i don't need any of these when teaching people how to use an english longbow.

DF is found on Bay12.
Bay12 is on the web.
The web is on the internet.
There are no girls on the internet.
Therefore no girls can find DF.
I'm sure some of them were given access to DF by their boyfriends, husbands, fathers and sons, etc, but they're still not on Bay12 forums, as already conclusively shown...
Yikes!

Jokes aside, as of this moment 2 people have selected the "female" alternative, so this site is not totally devoid of diversity gender-wise.
you mean "sex-wise".
I identify as a fungus sending out my spores - i hope they never catch me doing that in public :P
So an earlier-version male dwarf then? :/ Beard spores and all.

And I meant gender-wise. ”I identify as...” jokes are pretty offensive, and honestly propably straight up transphobic, whether intended or not. I’d appreciate if we didn’t have to have those kinds of jokes on this forum.
Sorry, i didn't mean to derange this thread nor insult anyone.

the main problem is having stuff not using the same letters in the menues throughout ALL menues from the workshops the furniture is built in until placing them.
same with some other smaller stuff. also it would be easier if the menu only appeared when using it and allowing mouseclicks there too.
having a more detailed info on the embark location selection screens would be great. i sometimes chose a location that looks promising and it is almost opposite to what i wanted (looking for a hillside to dig in and it turns out to be almost flat area or the other way around.)
You can press tab to see the elevation and slopes of areas.
but not in which direction the slopes go. also those numbers refer to how they were in the first stages of worldgen - before erosion makes everything flat.

what is QSPing?
Quantum Stock Pile - dumping items onto a single stockpile square.
Thanks... i always confuse the acronyms.

I finally find water on the third cavern level.

3 dwarfs die of dehydration on the way there.

Why were you trying to have your dwarfs drink water?
my dorfs always die by dehydration even if i have something to drink - they somehow seem to need water...
