Birds, typically, scare/anger them to climb on top of trees. Pretty common on any embark.

I didn't know that. Thanks for your answer. But how come that in adventure mode i can climb and my dwarfs cannot?

UPDATE

User Melting Sky was right and by random chance it took the evil clouds a long time to show up. It has the red ones that kill everthing it touches.

Thanks for your time, sorry i bothered you for nothing.

How did my dwarf end up on top of a tree is still a mistery.

Do not let your guard down yet. Just because you haven't seen any evil region effects yet doesn't necessarily mean there aren't any. Give it time and you may find there is evil weather that just hasn't showed up yet. How long have you been kicking back in this seemingly friendly evil biome? I assume you have tested to see if it is a reanimating zone?

Terrifying biomes in particular, generally tend to have some sort of evil regional effect although it is possible you just got lucky/unlucky. It certainly is possible to get an evil biome, even a savage one, that lacks any kind of evil juju outside of evil creatures and plants spawning there. I've also seen it take quite a while before the evil weather showed up.

Its not a reanimating zone and its highly unlikely to have no evil weather in a whole year.

Although something strange happened in the second gameplay. One of my recruit dwarfs disappeared and after a while i learn that he had died of thirst above a tree. Im guessing its a bug, there is no creature in game that would bring my dwarfs on top of the tree and let em die there.or is there?

As the post title says i embarked on a terrifying forest to find no dificulty whatsoever, this is very strange to me since i've played dwarf fortress for a long time and it never happened to me before. Is this a bug or a new feature?

Im playing 0.43.03 with the LNP if it helps.

Here is a link to a video where i show the region (Warning: the video is in spanish) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTz4vccB5XY

Muy buena suerte con el proyecto. Desde que empecé a jugar a Dwarf Fortress he intentado convencer a varios amigos para jugar, pero aquí en España el inglés no cala mucho, así que esto es simplemente un regalo del cielo

Hmmm interesting, it probably picks the first megabeast being parsed from the raws as first to spawn.

One could mod in a new megabeast, have it load before the dragon, and call it 'First Being' or something. That or call it 'Destroyer of Socks' so that the legends make sense.

All bow down to "Sockator The Destroyer Of Socks" haha :P

It is not a bug so much as it is a test of character.

Maintain the purity of your fort by killing the gobo scum, or let him in and flush society down the toilet?

By now im curios to see what happens, maybe i'll drown him later.

Yeah, that happens when the destroyer is null - it takes that as an argument for historical figure who destroyed it and marks it to it.

So this is a known bug? Or should i report it? in case i should, how do i properly report it?

And thx btw.

I was playing Dwarf Frotress again and this time i'm sure i found a bug. At a given moment in my save 4 announcements show up saying that 4 items were missing from my fortress.

So far so good... i thought this should be a thief or something (a super skillfull thief given that i have tons of animals and dwarfs coming and going in the hallways)

I open Legends mode out of curiosity and it says that a male Dragon destroyed the 4 items in my fortress...

I have a recording of the gameplay since im making a series in youtube, i'll leave a link to the video and a link to the image of the legends viewer.

That Legend Viewer Utility is amazing!!! I found out who she was (it was a female goblin)

She was from a nomadic group of goblins, they were 3 in total. The goblin group doesn't have any events, but their leader has "Great Pacifier" as a skill, maybe that has something to do.

So maybe some nomadic tribes aren't necesarely hostile. Will continue the research, and report any findings.

They're probably goblins from a human civ. Did you look carefully through the entire history of the world? People emigrate, towns are taken over, towns are retaken, pits are settled by elf invaders, refugee goblins flee from forgotten beasts to abandoned caves only to be invaded 200 years later by humans. They integrate, they go to visit the local dwarf fortress.

There's a huge amount of population movement in Dwarf Fortress. Almost every civ has citizens of other races living in it. Some goblins rise to become lords, barons and royalty. Others become master cheese makers.

Just look up the goblin in question, you have his name, so you can find out anything you like about him. Where's he from? Who are his parents, what's his occupation ? It's all right there in Legends to check (easier with Legends Viewer util).

The only time a genuinely evil goblin from an genuinely evil goblin civ will visit you is as part of a performance troupe. Because...art diplomacy...or something... :)

Woa, thx for your time dude i will definetly check the Legends Viwer utility. =)

Sometimes one civilization will take over the city of another civilization. If the humans take over a goblin city, then the goblins there will all become friendly citizens of that human civilization.

Ohh ok,thank you. BTW how can i check if the human civilization took over the goblin fortress?
