DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?

And there goes another cat dead to no reason but covered in vomit. You weren't even allowed out of the food stockpile! How ;; My kitties...

Bug report time. If anyone's got a save they can attach that would be great (can't attach mine atm because uploading sites are all hating on me for...some reason) http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=9195

EDIT: Huh, that's interesting! I have a human bard who's living with us to perform, renting out one of the rooms. She just claimed the position of Law-giver of her main civilisation (which I haven't met, so I was rather confused for awhile there). Congrats to her I guess!

EDIT 2: Wait she has a master and dreams of ruling the world? Lady are you secretly a necromancer? o.o

Any word if milling plants to a slurry produces seeds? I'm debating starting up a paper industry to make a library, but curious if it's one of those things I'll need to keep an eye on in case I accidentally lose all the seed opportunities and thus run out of plants.

Looks like all cats are being restricted to the food stockpiles, my one male one just died of random :c He is covered in vomit too so probably the random alcohol poisoning. Note to self, don't allow animals in the tavern.

Oh, and also apparently I found some aquifer tiles or something hidden in the rocks despite the fact the embark said there wasn't any. Yay.
Did you do the F1/F2 thing to check if your embark overlapped two or more biomes? By default, it only shows the biome that coveres the most space in your embark, but sometimes there's also a second biome over part of it that does have an aquafer.
Yep, always do. I'm on the corner of three biomes, and none of them had an aquifer tag. At least it's not an aquifer layer, just a small area, but yeah...do not want.

Although now I have a handy well for all my guys to go wash themselves by. Useful since I don't have a river/stream/brook or any murky pools.

None of my guests seem to want to either join my fort or rent out the rooms in the tavern...I wonder if I'm being too impatient though. Still don't have a mayor for some odd reason, I always forget when those pop up.

Also I need to expand my tavern, all my dwarves like hanging out in there instead of the dining hall now. Future forts might forgo the dining hall altogether in favour of a massive tavern...hm.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Instrument forging

Stone and wood stuff all seems to be at the Craftdwarf's Workshop, I don't see anything music related at the carpenter or mason shops.

Non-magma versions work fine, I haven't made magma depth on my current fort yet but made things at the kiln just fine.

...huh. Suddenly a whole bunch of cancel drink: item lost or destroyed spam, a bunch of recover wounded from the drink stockpile, and there's custard-apple cider on the floor. Did one of my barrels explode or something? o.o

The baron consort came instead of a liaison. Is this normal? In any case, he's a real cheeky guy.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yeah, sometimes barons or their consorts become the liasons, it's not unusual.

Time to make some coins then! If they don't work, I can always melt them down for bonus material, if that hasn't bee changed.

Sure it's the carp? Just go into the carp raws, and delete the line that says [AQUATIC][UNDERSWIM][IMMOBILE_LAND], and then add [AMPHIBIOUS].
Nope but there's error logs saying they're being dumb with pathing and it's crashing at random times, so I'm working on eliminating anything that might be doing it. Thanks!

Okay carp are killing my game by being stupid with pathing, it seems. Could someone give me an edit for their raw to either allow them to walk on land or instantly murderise them the second I load the game?

That's if my game will stop crashing long enough to find it! XD I have an error log stating carps are trying to path to stupid places, so I might have to find some way to murder them fast.

...okay now I'm worried. I hope it's a new version thing, because yeah. Obsidian is EVERYWHERE. I literally have an embark with obsidian layer material. This is. I don't even.

Also ffs woodcutter I had to break the wagon to build that axe for you and you had to go and kill yourself cutting trees down. All my lineface.

EDIT: Saved by crash. Thankfully initial save is on, so let's try that again...

EDIT: Lulz another crash. Okay time to move where I was digging.

...correct me if I'm wrong, but obsidian is only present where water and magma/lava meet, yeah? It's not one of the random layer materials?

There's a mountain in the corner of this map with exposed obsidian walls that I am going to sit here and eye. It's not reading as warm, but...
