Had a workout at the Y this evening. It'd been a long while since I last visited. While I was there, I met a helpful man who told me a few tips:
  • Adjust the seat and handlebars on the bike machine so that your knees are just slightly bent.
  • Put the bike's resistance (and push yourself enough) so that you're hitting a constant pace (200 RPM was what the man suggested) without stopping. Put it down a bit as you get tired, but make sure that you are always putting yourself at the point where you can hit that pace uncomfortably (see below).
  • Bike hard enough so that it starts to hurt. You'll get stronger and feel better for it.
  • Set goals like maintaining a pace of RPM.

Using these tips I was actually able to work out to the point where I felt like I accomplished something. I nearly got a cramp afterwards, but that just means I actually did something!

Itches are relatively small things as far as pain and suffering goes. That's precisely why they're so aggravating. They're petty things. As some might say, "small leaks sink big ships".

TREES KEEP KILLING MY DWARVES!

Seriously, how do I find and prevent this from happening??

Semiconductors, eh? Can he make a, say, transistor, or an operational amplifier, out of them? With these ones, you can actually make a super-shitty computer! Or at least a few memory elements. These ones are also quite cool.

Alas...

He's not a manufacturer of these things as much as a designer of them. He does most of his work on a laptop or other computer...

In light of my oncoming "Graduation" from home school/end of first partial year at college/me complaining about my old one for six months, my father, who happens to have been a professional bike mechanic a few times, has stuck together a new set of wheels for me.

Very smooth gears, actual shifters, fatter road tires, and a more comfortable height. This thing is great, yo! :D

Very nice!

The only thing my own father could make would be...

Actually, a few things, I suppose. A new chair/piece of furniture, maybe even a new bike (he's no mechanic though so he might find a few difficulties), or maybe what he actually does at his job...

A semiconductor... You know, one of the many components of various electronics... Useful, eh? :P

WHAT IS THIS?

The only "doge" I know of in the Touhou series/project is Kagerou from TH 14, and she's a werewolf!

Oh, her too. But in any case, the two are both wolves rather than dogs, let alone doges, so WHAT?

Killed a basilisk and later a goliath.

Both times they got the jump on me, but I was able to respond quickly enough to not get slaughtered.

Got all the way to Stage 5 before getting wrecked by Knoife Maid AND got a new high score of over 4 million points. Master Spark is so ridiculously good. If used right, it lets you power through almost an entire Spell Sign. Usually I don't use it that much because I like the bonus points you get for not using them, but this time my index finger kept spasming because of muscle fatigue and I ended up pressing "x" more often. And it worked out. Not that I didn't pull oodles of totally-not-accidental sweet doges[And several totally-accidental ones as well], but I used more bombs then usual.

i am entirely okay with this mental image and i kind of want to draw it

I always picture people on forums as their forum avatars/profile pics.

EDIT: My brother just graduated high school! He's going to the Virginia Military Institute, and is interested in joining the Air Force.

I'd kinda already realized, but music is really important to know what's going to happen next in a Touhou game. So, when the music starts glitching and skipping, it really throws me off, both because it's distracting and because I can't use changes in the music to anticipate when a big wave is going to come.

I mean, it was only my second or third time making it to level four, so there was no way I could anticipate anything, but the music skipping was still very annoying.

TH06: EOTSD.

You use music for that purpose?

And TH06 is EOSD. There's no "The" in the title.

So i recently started playing Dwarf Fortress again and had the most successfull Dwarf Fortress i ever had. Chantrazors. Why was it so successfull? Well i found an inexhaustible amount of gold. Mountains of it...literally. A Gold Vein which stretched for more than ten z-levels, i stopped counting at how much i found at around 10.000 bars of gold. And when this ridiculous gold vein finally ended, i found another one in another part of the map. By this point i was ridiculously rich and decided " fuck it lets go for the HFS". That didn't turn out good. I have always been a noob at this game and thought that a ten man military of legendary warriors decked out in steel would be enough to stop the Clown Car. Of course it wasn't and so i watched in dismay as my fortress was overrun...so i started three reclamation attempts...the problem was that the HFS had moved to teh surface and my wagons all spawned next to them...so i send 8 or 9 demigod explorers in...which failed too in the end i watched as my last attempt died in the arms of a Flying Waterdaemon, drowning and while i sat there i listened to this:

The Builders and the Butchers

TL;DR: Good music in the link.

Remember: You can't make weapons or armor out of gold (short of artifact weapons).

Anyway, I think I've fallen in love with the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series, despite not playing it.

So my father came back from overseas...

And he can get quite a temper sometimes.

Earlier this afternoon, he realized he had missed an important meeting (I think it was with his doctor). He checked the phone I lent him, and it was on silent (I hadn't turned it off), and he had missed a call he had been expecting. He started shouting and raised the phone in the air as if it to smash it against the ground, or maybe my foot (I was standing next to him when he was doing this). I felt bad.

When I asked Mom about it, she said that there was nothing I could do about it (one of the lines I hate the most, and one of the things I hate the most about Mom), and that it was something work-related. Earlier when Dad and I were talking, Dad said he was worried about us (his sons), and then said that I couldn't do anything about it when I asked how I could help.

When I pressed Mom on her problem and admonished/scolded/insulted her for changing the subject after her answer, as well as answering with that kind of attitude, she got upset at me for a bit too.
