Learnt the hard way to be wary of automining near the edge of caverns. Unless you're careful, they'll dig right into the cavern.

The rock wall has since been added, blocking up the gap, but not before an FB killed 19 or so of my dwarves while I wasn't looking.

I, on the other hand, have been getting an awful lot of migrants (my fortress is at about 200 right now, give or take twenty or so) while still failing to have breached a cavern.

Ah well.

Finally decided to update DF to .42.06, I've been having a real big trouble trying to remember the names of my notable dwarves so I can get add them to the engravings.

In fact, I've been having trouble managing my dwarves in general (Nothing's died yet, it's just that I'm having trouble assigning designations based on skills and such).

((Is everything OK? I'm just asking because I'm liking the game so far - It'd be a shame if something happened to it/you.))

Nah, don’t worry about and properly document this alarming lapse in memory. Don’t look for more notes in the journal, either. Just go ahead, put away your weapon, and have some more unprotected sex. It’s not like you’re trapped in a magical, time-altering, memory-impairing, impenetrable sphere-thing or whatever.

We don't intend to fell more than a hundred-twenty-three trees this year anyway, so we obliged.

They then vomited a whole lot of history about places being captured and the survivors moving away.

We may not always see eye-to-eye (ha!) but hopefully the elves may learn to embrace the stone and the mountain the way they embrace the plants and cannibalism.

Traders arrived, but we haven't traded yet. I intend to trade the usual prepared foods and finished goods (selecting the latter one at a time because elves don't use bins).

You consider asking why they didn't remove the manacles, and decide an old woman with a nagging cough isn't the one to ask.

I loaded a random workshop prison in Prison Architect, looking to get my escape on. I arrive in a prison bus, as always. The bus drives towards the prison. It keeps driving. It doesn't stop. The bus drives off the map. I win.
